Thank you very much for the great app. Today I received my new forerunner 245 and I was wondering if you are planning to make available your app for the new garmin watches. I am looking forward to it.

I have been using this app with my Garmin 935 and Stryd power meter. It works great. I have it set to use four data fields, 3 sec power, lap power, heart rate and distance. The power and heart rate fields are color coded, making it very easy for me to take a quick look while running. Just used on a half marathon and wish I had it when I ran the Boston Marathon last year.

I haven't run with this App yet (just ran Boston yesterday) so will return after I've used this while training. This app is AMAZING! Set up is intuitive and the number of options is unreal. This is a must for any Stryd owner, but would be useful for any Garmin owner. Why Garmin (or Stryd) couldn't develop an app like this is beyond me. I will post another review after using it

A really well thought through app. Every time I think of a feature I wish it had, it turns out it already has it. Love the options for lots of different displays (good for runners like me who need big displays) and the chance to have power alerts. There are so many options to pick too - I like being able to limit the number of times you get an alert if you want so you don't get the annoying beep beep indefinitely when you have decided to run with a friend outside your alert range. Thanks for all the work in creating this and for being so quick to respond to questions

A must-have for any Stryd owner! I love that I can see instantaneous power, lap average power and last lap average power together with time, distance and heart rate. I also very much appreciate that this field works with older watches, like my Fenix 3. Thank you!!!

Excellent data field, works like a charm, pretty much your only option to see a variety of power based metrics if you own a watch like the FR645 which does not natively support coupling a Stryd as a power meter. It is tricky to develop something like that, much more complex than most other data fields, so my hat is off. Very clean layout but under the hood a plethora of available options. Highly recommended.

I think by itself it is a great app, but there is a bug in there, because on my watch (fenix5X+Ti) in combination with Stryd it gives dropouts of a second randomly but often. With other datafields i dont have this issue. From others I have heard they experienced the same problem so this needs to be solved. Than it will be a great app. Maybe not everyone is experiencing this and can imagine you will have a great time with the datafield. The developer is encouraged to contact me so I can provide the data if he has need for analysis.

Patrick, thanks for the feedback. Sorry to hear you are having issues with Run Power. As noted in the store description, I can’t contact you unless you press Contact Developer and leave your email, or if you use the forum thread. When you leave a review, I can’t contact you except by leaving a reply like this, which I can’t be sure you’ll ever see. I would also appreciate being contacted with this kind of issue before leaving a review — positive reviews are a large motivator for my continued support of this completely free datafield that I made in my spare time. Without knowing more, it’s hard for me to say whether this is a bug or a Garmin limitation. For example, if you use Run Power *without* entering the ANT+ ID of your Stryd (which means that you paired your Stryd natively with the watch), then any drop-outs would be on the Garmin side. Even if you do connect via ANT+ ID (which isn’t necessary), there’s no reason I can think of for drop-outs, unless the Garmin software/hardware is just unable to handle the load of two data fields making simultaneous ANT+ connections. As an example of Garmin limitations, I find that when I use navigation on my 935, sometimes the entire watch slows down, especially when I go off course — sometimes this even causes CIQ fields to crash. I wouldn’t mind hearing about which fields you used which do not have this issue, and exactly what they do. Finally, as I do not own a Stryd, I’m not able to test these scenarios directly, unfortunately. But if you contact as suggested above, I will certainly do my best to try to figure it out.

Alguien me podría ayudar?? Muchas gracias

The only one that works with my 645M which can't connect to ANT+ Bike PowerMeters. Plz add %FTP at Power alerts (not only absolute numbers). Thanks a bunch. Where can I donate?

Hey George, thanks for the review and the suggestion! At this time I am not accepting donations, but I think Power Alerts by %FTP is a great idea. It will certainly be a possibility in my upcoming app, Run Power+. Run Power+ will remain free (as always), but it will require the use of a web app to change settings, which will open up a lot of possibilities for owners of all watches. Fantastic! Not only does it show all the metric combinations I could think of, but it has color coding, support for structured workouts and the ability to define additional metrics which can be written to the FIT file (if the metric can be specified using AppBuilder formulae). All I can say is WOW!

This data field is a game changer for those training with power. New real-time metrics such as %FTP allow to execute simple intervals with very little to memorize. The developer is extremely attentive to user feedback and quick at implementing changes and upgrades. Would be happy to donate if there was an option.

This is an amazingly flexible data field that has seen significant updates in the short amount of time it's been available. The developer has been extremely responsive to feature requests and bug reports in the forums. Two metrics it has that I haven't seen any other field support are displaying power as a % of FTP and real-time running effectiveness value. I highly recommend anybody running with power install this data field.

Can confirm that this works nicely on a Vivoactive 3. This is a great app! and completely free, without any licenses, payments or anything. The developper has updated this app a number of times over the last few days after listening to the community. Much appreciated. I am still not sure if you still need to use the Stryd Power datafield, if you do NOT need the other running metrics. Thanks once again stefe

This is an Excellent app for Power based running. The app is great if you run with a Stryd foot pod and train with power. This maybe the only app now that allows you to set power alerts for structured training workouts. The developer is very responsive to questions and feature request. Great work on this app!

Great app!!! Nonetheless, I suggest to add a couple of advanced power metrics such as Rolling Efficiency Index over 3, 5, 10, 20 & 30 seconds. I personally find useful 3 and 30 seconds. (https://www.bigdatatriathlon.com/efficiency-index-jim-vance-data-field-garmin-iq-watches/); and the ‘EF‘ (Efficiency Factor). This is the ratio of Watts I generated to HR (o or Pace to HR). Thanks anyway. The app is really cool.

If I understood correctly, there's no need to add the Stryd Power datafield to one of the other screens, right? If so, how does it work? And how come other apps do require that? Does it affect the ability to analyze the data on the Stryd website itself?
Svar från utvecklaren
den 18 december 2018, FlowState
Thanks for the review, Jules. You need the Stryd data field to record power and all the other data that Stryd provides. Run Power and all the other apps that work with Stryd only have access to power, when the user connects to their Stryd as a generic power meter.
