D102 Alpha uses Garmin Weather data so no api key needed. If you see ?? in the data field, you need to sync with the Garmin Connect app. If you see !! in the data field your watch does not support weather data. The weather data fields are marked with [WD] in the settings menus and will display the same data as the weather widget.
