EatMyRide Carbohydrate Burn/Intake Balancer helps you to easily manage your nutrition intake during a cycling ride without the need to create a nutrition plan prior to your ride. This data field provides you with real-time insight into your carbohydrate burn rates, intake rates and glycogen depletion. Whenever you consume a nutrition product you can select it in this data field so that your intake rate and glycogen depletion is updated. You will see that your burn rates can vary substantially over rides and so does your nutrition intake need. You need EatMyRide mobile app so that your personal carbohydrate burn rates are used. Here you can also select which nutrition products you want to use on this Data Field. Without choosing you will get generic products. 

HOW TO INSTALL THIS DATA FIELD
First make sure your IQ app has version 2.16 minimum for iOS or 2.15 minimum for Android phones. 

Once the datafield is downloaded in IQ store, make sure you add it to your datafield screens on your device in fullscreen (only one field on the screen). Open the EatMyRide app on your smartphone and use the 'Garmin' menu either to send your personalized metabolic profile or to send you favorite nutrition products to this Garmin datafield over BlueTooth. Your personalized metabolism will be shown once you start your activity. 

HOW YOUR PERSONAL METABOLISM IS CALCULATED
Your carbohydrate burn rates over time are based on your power values or (if you don’t use a powermeter) your heart rate values. How much you burn is also dependent on your athlete profile which you fill into the EatMyRide mobile app. Make sure you select your VO2Max or FTP and if you use a heart rate sensor, as well your heart rate zones. If you don’t do this the burn rates will be based on an average athlete and not be personalized. 
 
HOW TO SELECT NUTRITION INTAKE
Whenever you consume a product, click on the button ‘I consumed a product’. Here you find a list of products. To keep the list short we only use generic descriptions, also the amount of carbohydrate burn difference per brand is usually limited.
