This app is amazing. I've used it twice and it has pace my races perfectly. This is exactly what the doctor ordered.

I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong, but whenever I try to set the data field layout to “Peter’s Pacer” a small battery-shaped icon appears instead of the format I programmed. Any thoughts?

I ran the Chicago Marathon in 2017 and 2018. The GPS signal bounces all over the buildings giving you inaccurate information. This app fixes that issue when it matters the most. I just donated (sorry for the delay Peter). I just learned about the Perfect Pace data field. I will be using this function for my training and ready for Chitown 2019.

Just to make sure, do I need to press lap button every one or 2 laps? Will the right recalculation still happen if I just press the lap button once, let say at KM30 because that is the time when I see the distance difference between GPS and the marker?
It will be fine if you just press the lap button at km 30. Generally I only correct the distance 2 or 3 times when I run a marathon. Cheers, Peter.

I can't used it since 25 Aug 2019. I try to delete and re install that it can use but if change pace or distance that it will hang again.

Great app for marathon PR! I ran my best marathon to-date using Peter’s Pacer (2:56:18)!! Each press of the lap button at the mile marker gave me an accurate pace and spot on projected finish time!

How do you change the time or distance ? On the connect app or garmin device ?

I just used this app yesterday for a marathon and it worked perfectly. I will never run a race without this app again! Every field is useful but particularly the field that shows if you are ahead or behind your time goal. I wouldn't have hit my goal time if it wasn't for this field pushing me to run faster! Thank you for such a great app!

I love the look of the app, and while I agree that the whole 'miles' distance unit thing doesn't make any sense, I live in the US and it is the mess I have to live with, any chance of selecting 'miles' as a units preference or using the units as specified in the app.
Choose settings - system -units and select the right settings there. Also make sure to set the lap size to 1609 in the app settings (so that it corresponds with an autolap of 1 mile). Cheers peter

I've been using the Data Field for a couple of years and it has served me very well indeed, both in training and during races. I hadn't spotted there was also an app version. One thing I'm not clear about are the pros / cons of using the app vs. the Data Field. All thoughts / comments on this would be greatly received.
The differences are explained somewhat on the Peter's Pacer (The App) page. It has been on my to do (for a while now) to make a page that compares all my pacer apps, but I just haven't got to it yet (writing documentation isn't as much fun as creating a new app, but someday I'll get to it). I ran my first 10k using this data screen. I really liked the combination of heart rate, smoothed pace and ahead//behind timer.
It helpt me keep a steady pace throughout, using the ahead and behind time to compensate for uphill and downhill sections and occasionally glancing at my heart rate to make sure I wasn't going in the red too hard.
Being able to adjust the distance at each km sign worked really well too. Using the manual lap button I could see the exact time for every km and knowing the distance was correct made me have the confidence to speed up in the last section, beating my target time.
I donated and intend to use it for my first half marathon in a couple of weeks.

I ran the Copenhagen halfmarathon with this yesterday and 10k in Malmø the week before and this is a great app for racing. Both the behind/ahead field and especially the possibility to align "distance" (and the pace fields + the estimated finish time) once in a while with the official markers on the road during the race were extremelly helpfull (at the end people around me were "beeping" 100m before the official distance markers - GPS can be off by a lot, but I think most of it has to do with the impossibility to run the ideal line in a bigger race). Just a remark. It would be good to add an additional payment method for donating - paypal is hardly used in the Czech Republic. I think the case might be similar for other central and eastern Europeian countries.

Great screen: configurable, does what you need. This is the only widget/datafield/app that I happily donated 5€.
