Simply Altitude

Description

This simple widget provides an easy way to see the current altitude (elevation) as seen by your watch.</p><p></p><p>By default my vívoactive® HR can only show elevation as a data field in an activity app. I sometimes find it useful to know my altitude separately from an activity data screen. This widget attempts to provide this. It simply reads and displays the device's current altimeter value.</p>

My topo map says my elevation is 1125...This also gives the same altitude...Must work if they both say the same thing! Good stuff!

Thanks for your review. I'm glad it works for you! If your watch altimeter works and is properly calibrated, this will show the correct elevation, as seen by the watch.

Merci pour votre avis. Malheureusement, la précision de la valeur affichée dépend du bon calibrage de la montre. Si la montre n'est pas configurée correctement, la valeur sera également incorrecte.

Thanks for your review. Unfortunately "it" doesn't think you're below sea level, your watch thinks you're below sea level. Calibrate the watch and the widget display will be correct. If you think there's a more fundamental issue please contact me directly.

Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, as I say in the description, the widget simply displays what it receives from the device. If the altitude displayed is wrong it's because your watch is wrong.

Thanks for your review. If you have a request it's always best to contact the developer directly. Widgets time out and as such are not meant for the on-going long term display of information.This widget is simply used to show the current value of a sensor so I implemented it as a snapshot with no further complications.

Works EXACTLY as advertised. I have vivoactive 3. The barometer screwed itself up indigo swimming or flying. You just have to turn on a GPS activity for 30 seconds to recalibrate. Developer does not need to be so rude to people who haven’t figured it out yet. Again….app works great. Thanks!

But I get fed up with people being rude about the app, i.e. me, when in reality the app works as it should but the issue is with the watch. 1) Read the description. 2) Contact me directly - you'll always get a positive response.

Hight calibration The altitude at my position varies from -40 to +50 meters. Therefore (re) calibration of the altitude makes neasurements dringend the day more trustworthy. The question is how can the app set the level at the altitude where you are at that moment? NB can be at a pas with an altitude sign.

1. You should try contacting the developer for help before leaving a poor review. 2. Calibration isn't impossible. It's a function of the watch, not the app. I recalibrate mine frequently. If yours doesn't allow it, blame it not me.

I received my watch and right away I wanted an altimeter. I downloaded this and I couldn't fight it how to install it. My fault!!! I just got the watch. I emailed the Developer and he replied right away with directions on my watch. Altimeter is great easy to read while hiking. Exactly what I needed. Customer service is great. I will look for apps from this developer first.

Does what dev says it does. Like he mentioned it’s pulling data from the watch so your watch is the issue if it’s not showing the correct altitude.

Thanks for your understanding review. I recognise the limitations of my widget with non-barometric devices. I decided it wasn't up to me to not make the app for those watches, it was up to the user to understand their watch and make an informed decision as to whether the app was for them or not.

I can’t say that it works to well on my vivoactive 3. It’s off by about 100-200 feet. I might need to calibrate? I don’t know how thought so if I could get help that would be nice!

I'm sorry you can't get my app to work. It just shows what the watch gives it. If your device isn't calibrated you won't get good results. The problem is with the device not the app. If you use your watch properly the widget works well. If you think the issue really is the app why not ask for help before leaving a poor review?

I'm sorry you couldn't get my app to work on your watch. Why not contact me for assistance before leaving a poor review? In what way did it not work? If it really doesn't work I want to know more so I can fix it. The Forerunner 245 doesn't have a barometric altimeter. Did you make sure you had a good 3D GPS fix before using the widget? The app just reports what it gets from the watch.

As the title says, it's quite simple. Just altitude is displayed. I went for the myABC widget instead, as it has more useful information

Thanks for your review. My app simply shows your altitude, in a large font, as that was all I needed. If you want more information myABC would be a good choice.
