I would prefer bigger text and numbers. Maybe it would be useful to have this kind of settings. When I run, it's a bit heavy to see the data field. (Fenix7S)

Hello Novák and thanks for your comment. You can now chose a larger font in the next release 2.04 of the datafield.

Does this Datafield work with Forerunner 55 and the Cardio Activity App too? And the other thing I recognised is I changed the data fields of Running and Walking activity app but every time I leave the activity the vo2 max field is gone from screen if I want to start a new session running or walking and it seams to be not saved in my screens.

Hello Patricia and thanks for your comment. Yes, this datafield is compatible with your device. The problem you mention is not directly related to the datafield itself. Once downloaded to the watch, it should remain on it, whatever you import it or not in a sport activity. If it cannot stay in the selected sport activity, that means there is an issue elsewhere on your watch, but the datafield is not the issue. When you import the DF in the activity, do you save your changes ? This may be the issue.

A useless app - it just copies speed
25. oktober 2021,
Hello Eevgenly. The VO2 calculation is directly correlated to the runner's speed and calculated in real time so, it's normal that both graphs seems similar. But, the VO2 max data you may consider and take into consideration are the VO2 calculated for the whole session and the smoothed VO2, calculated all over your sessions. They are saved into the FIT file in the summary area of the session.

Awesome app. Wish the complete version was available for Forerunner 55. Very useful for Vo2max obsessed like me. Thank you.

Very useful, not so much during the session but extremely important when analyzing session on Garmin Connect.

Great data field, during running everything ok, but why in Garmin Connect after run I don't see data (VO2 Max Session 0 and Real VO2 Max also 0)?

Hello Jarda and thanks for your comment. Unfortunately, this is a Garmin bug since... months ! But, if you see the same session in Garmin Connect mobile, you will see the data well displayed

08. marec 2019 |
I installed it on my Vivoactive HR since a while and I never had it working. I can't even find it on the watch even though Garmin express tells me it's installed. Can anyone give me some tips? Is there anything I should do to set it up?
10. marec 2019,
How to install:
This is a data field not an application and needs to be added to a single data screen within a sport activity.
1- go to settings, apps, sport activity, data screen, screen 1 or 2 or X
2- set layout to 1 field
3- set field 1 to ConnectIQ Fields, JMGDTFRunningVO2

I like it. Simple on my watch, but gives some nice details in the Garmin app.

Very small font size on data field
Can't read data for who are farsighted eye (hyperopia) while running .
But the data in garmin connect is great.

Can you pls change the font size to utilize the available screen estate ... barely readable in the current format. PLS make it a real data field which scales the display to the availailable screen size. TX

I like this datafield. It is simple and gives me a V02Max reading immediately (despite having had the watch for only a few days). Garmin by contrast needed 2 weeks to get the V02max reading back to roughly the right figure.
But the problem I have is a lack of information about how this app is calculating V02max. I understand garmin use FirstBeat data. But is the algo in this app the same, better or worse? no idea. Today Garmin suggests V02max of 60 for me and this app suggested 66 in my run yesterday.
