v7.1 [10-Oct-22] Added Edge 1040 and recompiled with latest SDK

v6.5 fixed bug where using a real power meter indoors (not moving) would not report power (was looking for non zero speed)

v6.4 optimized the display, content, vertical position, and font sizes, and added a 5 min avg compare vs real power

v5.5 added a new graph to Garmin Connect to show the PWR Difference between Real and Estimate Power if you have a real power meter

I 'think' this is a great idea but with no instructions on how to set it up I don't feel I'm getting the best from it. The FB link is broken. Some instructions would be great. Useful for when I'm commuting on my Brompton and for subsequent uploading of power and TSS.

Thought I'd try this out for my commuter that doesn't have a PM. Have been testing it against my smart trainer and road bike with a PM and surprisingly really good!!! My only gripe is I can't seem to find an option to stop the data field scrolling. I just want to see the estimated power and that's it.

Tolle zusatz APP bin froh die zu installiert haben! So sehe ich nach bei meiner Radfahrt immer ca. Wattzahl...einfach großartig!!!. Denke der Watt Wert ist ca der eines Powermeter

I never seen an estimator so good in Connect IQ Store. It is so accurate for accelerations, average power, instantaneous power. I will give 5 stars if is possible to modify data fields to have Avg power in a data field, Power (4s) in another data field and avg power of the last 5 minutes in another data field.

good idea, I like to use it, but the font of the numbers in the display is too small

Have been using this along side my power pedals and found it very accurate once set up. I use it with my gravel and MTB which gives a XSS in Xert that is realistic.

Comparing the fit records in GoldenCheetah, I see that data with zero power is skipped in the record instead of entering the zero value. It is interesting that GC calculates power based on these fields, but where cadence is zero, it inserts zero power. Over time, the data pass precisely due to the lack of zero power recording in the case of zero cadence. Will you be able to improve the data recording so that also zero power at zero term is saved?

It would be great if in addition to the data provided, you could obtain the power you have given by eliminating the moments when you do not pedal in addition to the one currently displayed. If possible, an estimate of ftp would be wonderful. very good job, it is the best application by far

This is pretty cool. I just started using it and trialling xert just when I wont have access to a power meter for the next few weeks... but I think it will work well when I get a chance to calibrate properly! Thank you for making this.

Great data field. But if you use it with a power meter to calibrate, your maximum power in Training peaks will be the avg power you set for using the data field without a heart rate monitor, even if you use it with a heart rate monitor. This is only in Training peaks. I use it with a Quarq, and I get two power meter graphs in Training Peaks, with one being power and the other being right side power. Not sure how Training Peaks picks these. But the graphs get truncated in TP at the NP you set in HR2P. So, if you use Training Peaks, after you calibrate HR2P against your power meter, you need to delete the HR2P data field or your Training Peaks Training load and power curves will be severely corrupted. After 3 months, I finally looked closely at the Training Peaks data which no longer mirrors XERT data. For XERT, HR2P is not a problem at all, even if you use it with your power meter. Just watch out for what it does to your Training Peaks power curves.

I use this when I ride my Brompton which doesn't have a power meter, so I can keep up with my XERT training plan and XSS numbers. However, with version 6.7, on my Edge 1030, in the settings in Garmin Connect, the settings do not "stick." I have to reset them every time I sync. So, one day the data for power is pretty good, the next it is off by 15%.

Mountain bike doesn't have a power meter. My commutes to work on my road bike I find this app to be very accurate for average power.

Hi Dave, any chance supporting scaled font sizes for Edge 130? Currently when viewed with one data field (2 columns x 4 rows) displayed, it is inadequate to see. This is also the case when the data field is 2 columns x 2 rows as the font does not scale or adapt to the available space provided by these data field size on Edge 130. My other feedback is to add either a different warmup scaling factor other than the 40%-0% or let the user change the warmup time period from 7 minutes to user choice.

I really like this field. I do not use a power meter because I am less focused on increasing my VO2 max and anaerobic efforts and more focused on enjoying the sport...my personal preference. Also I do not race. However, that doesn’t mean I don’t like to see if I am getting stronger and your app does give me a pretty cool way to do that. I was wondering if in a paid version you could do 2 things....1) have the option to stop the scrolling between the data and 2) include normalized power. Thanks for all the work.
