I like the App. It's a pity though that it doesn't show elevation gain in Garmin Connect (shows 0 even though ascent is eg. 50m), it is not possible to switch GPS ON/OFF, it's not possible to add climbing style after each lap (OS, flash, RP, PP, AF, TRAD...). If you export activity from Garmin Connect it doesn't export ascent/descent values correctly (probably Garmin issue).
The activity starts with "climbing LAP" although most climbers have at least couple minutes warm up and stretching before first route or boulder ;-)
Do you plan to add any of these in the future?
Thanks a lot for the app.

Great app idea. Should record laps as sets of a strength activity type with custom exercise name at bodyweight (would make climbs editable). Needs a difficulty histogram.

Thanks. Works pretty well. Would be ace to be able to specify type of climb with grade, for instance top rope, lead, solo top rope, free solo. Also be rad to have more options than success.. Like Redpoint, onsight, flash, pink point, hang dog. Also I've Garmin linked with Strava... it'd be ace if this mapped the climb details to the Strava description. Other climbing apps can do that, it *should* be possible from Garmin connect. Anyway great job. Will definitely donate if it gets a bit of fine tuning. Very thankful nonetheless!

Neat app! Would be nice to see the level of climbs on the connect cellphone app and on the watch after the activity is saved!

Hi, climbs can be viewed in Garmin Connect mobile - go to the Laps section of your activity, turn your phone horizontally and scroll all the way to the right

This is an okay app and I'm grateful it exists because I'm no app developer and I like being able to track my climbs and training. Sadly though it doesn't have Sport grades on there which is disappointing considering that it is the internationally recognised grading system for sport routes - is it possible to add this? Also, the British Trad adjectival and tech grades can't be used together which seems a bit pointless, and the adjectival grades are missing HD and HVD. The Australian (Eubank) grades don't go high enough, and the Nordic grades have a slightly confusing extra choice of 0-1 which shouldn't be there (that grade system starts at 3 anyway). The USA grades (strangely called Yosemite) aren't right at all and why the Font grades are called Climbing Wall doesn't make any sense. It would be less confusing if everything was named a bit more correctly, and even less confusing if there was a main menu to split up bouldering and climbing - this way you could have the British Tech Grade (for bouldering), the V Grade (simply called Boulder on this) and the Font grade all in one place.

Easy to use for tracking climbs

Great work withh the app, thank you! Missing Fontainebleau grades as mentioned and would be great to see the grades stored in IQ so to use it as a workout tracking for gym climbing and training. Keep going, I will buy you that beer! Cheers, Luis.

Fontainebleau is the system being used when selecting "Climbing Wall" (sorry for the name confusion). Grades are saved as part of the activity. To view them in the Garmin Connect app, go to Laps, flip the phone horizontally and scroll all the way to the right
Utorok, 2019, augusta 27 | Verzia 2.9.1
I like it but I don't see the Fontainebleau grade when I start the activity on my 245M.
Streda, 2019, augusta 28, eran_levi
hi, please select "Climbing Wall", it's the Fontainebleau system

Where is the lap button on MK1??!?
Streda, 2019, augusta 14 | Verzia 2.9.1
Can you please add Australian grades? Don’t find the handling too easy I must say :(
Streda, 2019, augusta 14, eran_levi
Hi, the Australian system was already added - select Ewbank when starting the activity.
Utorok, 2019, augusta 13 | Verzia 2.9.1
Under climbing wall, I pick the grade, climb, great. But if I then climb a different grade I have to save and start again and ended up saving 15 times. I only want to save once &climb different grades
Utorok, 2019, augusta 13, eran_levi
You need to press the Lap button (or swipe right for touch screen devices) at the end of the climb to switch to rest mode, and press Lap again when you're ready for the next climb. It'll then prompt for the grade. So no need to stop/start the activity to change the climb grade

It took me a while to figure out this app on my vivoactive 3. I could not figure out how to make the lap function work just as another reviewer posted. After you select the climbing level and start the climb you simply wipe right and it will ask if your climb was successful. For one week I would climb a single route and then save it out.
My only suggestion is to write up how to use this app in the description.

Good app, thanks for putting it together. Agree with Segrob - the Yosemite Decimal system doesn’t work, please fix! It would also be great to be able to program for laps (e.g. on an Autobelay).
Utorok, 2019, júna 18 | Verzia 2.9.1
The app works great. Is there a way to make it tag Activities as "Rock Climbing" instead of Other in the Garmin Connect categories?
Piatok, 2019, júna 14 | Verzia 2.9.1
Tried this today for the first time. I loved it.
* Total climb time, total rest time
* Ascent distance, total ascent (distances incredibly precise on the fenix 5s, seems the error is within +- 1meters, exceeds my expectations)
* Keeps track of all grades and success/failure to climb
* So many rankings supported (french, Yosemite, bouldering.. etc.)
* HR info, calories
I was able to find the grades (5.10, 5.11A etc.) reported on the mobile app but I can't seem to find them in the web client.
Štvrtok, 2019, júna 13 | Verzia 2.9.1
My only real gripe is that the climbing levels (at least for Yosemite scale) don't show up properly in the data screens in Garmin Connect. For instance, on most of my laps it shows 6L, except the one where it shows 5.10+L. I had done a 5.9 and 5.10 as well, but maybe the system is rounding those to 6? Please try and fix this.

Very good app. However, with the vivosctive music 3 I can't mark laps with double tap, and I don't have a lap button in it.
Utorok, 2019, apríla 23 | Verzia 2.8.6
Very good and useful app! The only drawback is that one cannot record GPS track when using this app outdoors, crags, mountains:(
Pondelok, 2019, apríla 1 | Verzia 2.8.6
Thanks for sharing this app! very useful to record the climbing activities!
Just a couple of question / suggestions:
- can you please explain me how it works the setting "Pause recording in rest Yes or No"?
- have you ever thought to add a multipitch version? with level of each pitch and if you are leading that pitch or second climber
- is it possible to add GPS recording as well?

Great use of Connect IQ! Used this last night at the climbing wall and it works perfectly. Shame the developer is limited in what can be shown post climb in GC mobile/web but certainly makes the best of what can be achieved.
The only slight negative I have is that he ascent figures for me are showing with lots of numbers after the decimal place, this could hopefully be rounded to a max of 2 to make it look neater.
Keep up the good work!
Streda, 2019, marca 20 | Verzia 2.8.6
Very Nice! Thanks for this great app!
- it would be nice if one can read the information (grade & success) in garmin connect web or maybe to be able to export one's stats
- to adapt the screens
Štvrtok, 2019, marca 21, eran_levi
Hi, you can view the grades & success information in Garmin Connect - in Connect Mobile go to the Laps section of the activity, turn the phone horizontally and scroll all the way to the right

Hi, I want to use Fontainebleau. But I can't choose it. My vivoactive 3 just shows me Boulder but this is not the fb grading system. What do I wrong?
Sobota, 2019, marca 2 | Verzia 2.8.6
Hi Eran, thank you very much for your great app. I use it and it is perfect to track the workout. Unfortunately I raise you a defect in french grade: if you do for exemple 3 pitches 5b 6b and 6a the grade chart level on GCM indicates correctly 5 grade but for 6 level and above the chart displays 8 grade or 9 ... so for my exemple on chart I have 5 (ok) and 8 (not ok it should be 6) and 7 (not ok it should be 6). Thank you again for your work and this extraordinary app.
Utorok, 2019, marca 5, eran_levi
Hi, the grade graph does not display the climb names but rather a relative difficulty - 1 is the first grade in the system (4A in the French system), 2 the 2nd (4B), 3 is 4C and so on... To view the actual climb names, go to the Laps section in the Connect mobile app, turn the phone horizontally and scroll all the way to the right
Piatok, 2019, marca 1 | Verzia 2.8.6
Unsure what's not right, but I tried this yesterday and there are two issues.
Main one is zero tracking of height at all, on climbs ranging from 1-4m across grades. I can't find anywhere to adjust a minimum height bit the app in connect says 36m?
Secondary is that I entered details in the app (v grades) which don't seem to translate to connect. I can't find them anywhere.
Any help appreciated.
Sobota, 2019, marca 2, eran_levi
hi, as I've mentioned in the description, altitude tracking depends on the watch's barometer accuracy, and as such it's merely a rough estimate, especially for height differences which are less than 3m.
To see the climb names in the Connect mobile app, go to the Laps (splits) section, turn the phone horizontally and scroll all the way to the right.

Am I doing something wrong...? I am looking to use Yosemite Decimal System (5.##), but when I select that on my watch it only gives me a 0 or 1 selection choice?
Štvrtok, 2019, februára 28, eran_levi
Hi, the input for the Yosemite system is composed of 3 parts -
1. 0/1 where 0 is for numbers less than 10, 1 for numbers greater than 10.
2. A number between 0-9.
3. a/b/c/d/+/- or blank.
e.g. for 5.13b select 1 in the 1st field, 3 in the 2nd, b in the 3rd.
The app lets you input values for these 3 fields, so if that doesn't work as explained, please send me a feedback and let me know which watch you're using.
