Awesome widget, any chance it will support cover entities in the future? Controling it through an input boolean at the moment which works fine.

Thanks :) I have just uploaded a new version supporting covers. Only basic operation, like opening and closing. Let me know if it doesn't work as it should! I have no real cover to test on.

Works great, looks way better than "the other one app" and to make it even better I updated the source code to support more homeassistant entities.

Works very good! Great functions and simple setup! Recommended!

Thank you very much, it works perfectly!

Does not work, I get error message "Failed. Check settings, invalid url", even though the url is correct. I tried both internal ip address and external web address from ddns.
Piatok, 2021, februára 26, karlenek
Internal/private IP addresses won’t work, since neither HTTP is not supported or self signed certificates. This is a limitation from Garmin and nothing I can fix.
If you contact me through ConnectIQ instead of writing a review it will be easier for me to help you. And please attach the url you are using. Or if you open an issue on GitHub.
But with the little information I have it sounds that you are using http and not https. Like mentioned above http is not supported due to limitations from Garmin. This is clearly stated in the documentation.

very nice idea. this could be a perfect HA enhancement.
Unfortunately I have problems to read entities from group.
Might be a problem with https and self signed certificates. I'm not sure how IQ handles imported CA on Android.
BTW Login works with Token only. Same Problem?
Utorok, 2021, februára 9, karlenek
It would be nice if you could open an issue about this on GitHub, and I will try to help you. However, it sounds like the self-signed certificate could be the issue. I know it won’t be supported on iPhone using the Garmin app in the latest versions of iOS.
Piatok, 2021, januára 22 | Verzia 1.2.1
Great effort, unfortunately its too much of an hassle to setup https in my local home assistant installation just to be able to turn off my slightly out-of-reach bedside lamp from my watch.
Pondelok, 2021, januára 25, karlenek
Thanks! I'm sorry to hear that, but Garmin doesn't let us use HTTP :/
Pondelok, 2021, januára 18 | Verzia 1.2.0
App is working perfectly. No need to login since long lived token is used. Thanks for quick reaction on the issues and fixing them!
Utorok, 2020, decembra 8 | Verzia 1.1.1
Finally, the widget keep disconnecting. Can't be used since I have to connect with my phone each time.
Streda, 2020, decembra 16, karlenek
Unfortunately, I don't have full control over the connection. The widget doesn't handle any connection to the phone, this should be done automatically by the watch.
Things I can think of without having too much detail;
- Make sure the Garmin Connect app is running in the bacckground.
- Make sure you have enabled background refresh on the app.
It would be helpful if you could open an Github issue and describe you problem, including what watch and phone you are using. And I will try to support you!
Sobota, 2020, novembra 28 | Verzia 1.1.0
Thank you! Great work! Took a little time to catch how to show entities on the watch, but after that everything is as described. Just a question : is there plan to add some functions? Examples : turn on only instead of toggle. If example I turn on a switch to unlock my door which then turn off automatically, I have to turn off on the watch manually before unlocking the door again. Also, I'm not a developer, but is there a way to add NFC to scan a tag associated with actions (of course the phone associated to the watch should be near).
Thank you again!
Sobota, 2020, novembra 28, karlenek
Could you open an issue on Github where you describe your setup in Home Assistant?
How are you using the switch to open the lock?
Maybe I can just add support for locks if that would help?
Lets continue the discussion on Github :)
Regarding NFC, as far as I know there is no way for non Garmin developers to access the NFC API. So that wont work with Garmin watches unfortunately.
