Excellent HRV app and so convenient for Garmin Epix 2. I notice that although initially I got all HRV values directly from the wrist sensor, I get them now only when wearing chest strap. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi, Thanks for the review. You are doing nothing wrong. If you wear a strap it will use this in preference to the optical sensor (just the way Garmin has setup the sensor hub on the device). I used to have a separate ANT interface so you could choose but as the app grew it wouldn't fit in smaller devices!

Значения HRV (54,1) измеренные виджетом, не совпадают с данными Elite HRV (63).

Did you take the measurements at exactly the same time using the same HR source? Did you align scaling factors for the way each app outputs HRV? What processing is done on the interval data to reduce noise, artefacts and missed/extra beats? These will explain any differences.

Awesome app and the developer is very responsive to questions. As previous reviews rate before contacting the developer. If you have difficulty email first before reviewing :) Thanks for your help developer!

Maybe if I could find the instructions on where the data is I might like it.

Perhaps if you could be more specific I could help eg do you mean on the watch or in connect or on the web. It's a standard activity and if you've ever looked at one of those you will known how to find the output from a test. Note you need to enable FIT write as per the website instructions for data to appear in connect.

Awesome app!! Love all the features but I’m confused and about the long and short heartbeats. I know what an ectopic beat is but you can provide info about a long or short beat?

thanks. The website for the app describes the long and short... Long - The number of pulses exceeding long threshold (beat longer than normal ie slower BPM) Short - The number of pulses exceeding short threshold (beat shorter than normal ie faster BPM) There are default thresholds you can change. Basically it looks at the short term average then compensates by the threshold to determine if, in a resting state, the current value is lower/higher than predicted. Regards, David

Fantastic app - I like being able to see the history in the app itself, however like the previous reviewer, I prefer to visualise on GarminConnect. Can you please explain how to enable FIT write?

Hi, Glad you like the app. You have three options: 1. ConnectIQ. Goto "My device" then "my device apps" then HRV Analysis settings. Turn on Fit Write 2.Connect. Goto Garmin devices then pick your watch then apps and activities then app which goes to 1. 3. On device open app, Press Menu button then FIT Output then click or touch Write when blue bar is on this item. Hope that helps.

It is great application for HRV measurement. thank you for it. But I notice that if a person having one or more ectopic beats, the rmssd will become unreliable will any alogorithm solve this problem in the coming new version? Thank again

Summary: Wow! Stellar application! All details I could ask for plus graphs, trends, initial classifications derived from parent population (so you get an idea to classify the results until you have established your baseline). Very extensive customizability (via Connect IQ and settings directly on the watch). Those settings include technical (such as the timer time that you can reduce here, defaulting to 5 minutes; current research has shown that results with less samples / shorter sampling time do correlate with the initially proposed 5 minutes. The new recommendation is one minute, which however may differ when using PRV, the optical sensor (technical constraint; that would be the case with all applications using this data); you can use your chest strap too however to measure HRV). I was very happy to donate for a beer, thank you!

Great APP, but I would like to ask to the developer a way to export the tcx or gpx file to .xls file. I would like to put all my data in a file to run some analysis I have tried many ways, but nothing works. Thanks for your help

Hi, Thanks for the review. You can use FitToCSV.bat to convert the FIT file produced to a CSV file. You then need to find the right fields/columns to get the data you want. You can message me if you want further help. Note on older devices you can create a debug file in the LOGs folder - instructions on my webpage.

I downloaded this because I wanted more data than the Garmin HRV Stress app. This definitely hits the mark on that, and it works very well on my Fenix 5. I need to learn more about it, but the developer has clearly done the homework and made a really thorough app. Grateful to have it and looking forward to using it more.

All seems fine so far. Just curious, may have been answered already but will the app automatically switch to my HRM reading when I am wearing it? And use the watch sensor when not?
