Very cool data field. I enjoy the VO2 Max graph. Not certain how to decipher the energy expenditure graph. Overall, a very cool addition to my biking program.

This seems to be an excellent app. It is working for me but my results are not what I expected. I am 69, weigh 240 and am just getting back on my bike (indoor mount) to workout. My readings are in the mid 40's to low 50's. I've triple checked my setup values and am perplexed. I am using a Forerunner 920XT. Thanks for your insight.

How do I get the data field to start running? User guide available? All I can see is the settings and unistalled options.

Great data field, thank you for this. I was wondering how close and precise the calculated VO2max is compared to the values I got from a Swiss Olympic test. The data field VO2max value is almost 20 pioints higher that the value I got from the real test.

really good data field! the issue with the weight seems solved on there last version. cool! my only question is how the vo2max is calculated if Garmin needs the power data and this field works without it.

Hello Ramon and thanks for your comment. Power is not mandatory for the detailed, you can select, in the settings file, both HR or Power methods, if you do not own a power sensor, then select the HR method and, the data field will do the job.And if there is not a HR sensor too, no VO2 max will be calculated, of course...

Dear Devloper, thanks for this wonderful datafield. But I have one important question. When I do the setting I have to enter a value for "Smooth VO2 Max". Unfortunately I do not understand the meaning of it and what I shall enter ... Can you explain? THX Peter

Hello Peter and thanks for your comment. The field for Smooth VO2 max is here for both reasons: 1- you already know your VO2 max (the one already calculated by Garmin for example) and want to start with this known value otherwise, you will start from scratch; 2- in case of you loose the data field from your device (firmware issue, hard reset, etc), you can avoid to start from zero by setting your known VO2 max into this field so, the datafield continues its calculation with this base Smooth VO2 max, as if nothing ever happened !

Hello Robert and thanks for your question. To customize the background color, you need to enter the options of the whole activity and switch from white to black, the datafield will then automatically change its own background, this feature should normally be explained in your user manual, if your watch has this option.

Since the last update the app has a problem. As soon as you change your weight or resting heart rate, it no longer works. Too bad, because it's a great widget.

I confirm the behavior "Stipe" mentioned, data field does not work anymore after changing your weight. I am wondering if the weight have any influence on VO2 max calculation. I uninstalled and reinstalled without changing any setting, now it works as before. Apart from that great data field app (VA3 Music)

Been using the app for a year now, works great on Garmin Edge Explore 820! Thanks a lot! Recently bought a Vivoactive 4, and somehow it took on my historical max VO2max in the user profile. I'm already wondering for the entire year now how it calculates the VO2max purely based on Heart Rate. Can you tell us what formula is used?

It's normally working for default settings. When I change weight it doesn't work anymore. Why?

Information appears in Garmin Connect Activities which is great, but when I run VO2 Max reports to track my progress over time, it states there is no data.

Not working. I have Vivoactive 3. Installation and data field setup was without problems. ON cycling time I see on this field only "IQ!". After ride I saw chart where VO2 and Energy Expenditure charts is only 2,5 min. Ride was 30 min. I tested both basic and complex app.

Hi! How are you! I have a question. Is it possible to have the simple and the complete one running at the same time? I want to have the simple in the main screen and the complete one in another screen

Hello Sandro. Same answer as below. The datafield has been tested fine on the simulator for all the devices so, without detailed explanations on the issue, I cannot investigate for some special case, sorry. You can send me an email with your explanations, it will be a pleasure to answer you and try to find what's going on.

Not working... it doesn't mean anything if you don't explain why. I personally use this data field on two devices (watch + Edge) and it works like a charm. Could you please send me an email to explain what's going on exactly, please ? But, if your comment is just about the installation and use of the datafield, you can see how to, like this: https://forums.garmin.com/sports-fitness/running-multisport/f/forerunner-230-235/108584/install-new-datafields, or this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5IXgyBMuX8
