A must download. I wouldn't ride without this now. Follow the really clear instructions and you will be able to get access to more data files including how many cars have passed you, details of the speed of the nearest vehicle behind you etc. Worth a free download for sure and I've sent a contribution to the developer. I wouldn't ride without this now.

The "715" is to road cycling, as GPS was in the late '90s to everyone! It uses are so much more than just cycling. I taped it onto a PVC pipe and placed it in my garden out by the curb. I "speed trapped" my neighborhood street for 5 hours one morning. Just playing with it! I stopped on an overpass of Interstate 5 and recorded southbound traffic for 5 minutes, just to "play" with it. What about placing one of these in construction zones? Remember it's video and speed recordings. We're looking at innovation here. I've been showing it to our police and sheriffs deputies. They're amazed! Wouldn't ever get on a road ride again without one.

Such a great app that it really should be included by default. I had it installed on my 1030 and when I upgraded to the 1040 I thought it would transfer but it needed to be reinstalled.

It's an amazing application. It would be great If I could change the speed from mph to kmh.

The speed displayed should match your overall Garmin units selection. Try changing your units to Metric through the settings on your Garmin device and then fully restarting your device. Let me know through the "Contact Developer" link if that doesn't fix the display.

Absolutely brilliant thank you. Should be a built in feature of varia I have a 130plus and the font size in the iq data field is tiny (I show only approach speed and distance) seems garmin not interested in allowing an edit (looking at forum posts) Do you have a way I can edit to increase the font size at all?

This is a fantastic addition to my Garmin 1030 Plus/Varia Radar data set thanks to a YouTube video from Shane Miller telling us about this app!! Seeing the speed at which cars are approaching me helps with safety awareness so I'm paying much more attention to what is approaching. If you have the hardware I highly recommend you watch Shane's video then download and install this app.

Knowing how many cars have passed, and their speed, is pretty cool, but after successfully uploading two rides to the website, every ride since then gives me an error. The data is there on the Garmin Connect website, but then mybiketraffic.com says there is no data. I can't recall if I changed anything on my Edge 1030 plus or not, so I have no idea why it fails now.

Thank you for the feedback. It's possible that there is a bug on my website. Can you email me the FIT file you are trying to upload directly? [email protected]

Garmin should bundle this with the device. This data field adds a whole new element to using the radar light. Simple but effective, and the ability to upload to the developers website to visualise the traffic on your ride is an added bonus. Please keep developing and adding features.

You must upload the original FIT file ... you must connect your Garmin to your computer and look for the FIT file. Or alternatively, if you have synched your 1040 with Garmin Connect then you can find the original FIT file per the screenshots shown here: https://mybiketraffic.com/assets/img/garminconnectexport.jpg
