Congrats on being the only third party app to do this (at least that I can find). Amazing data field with VO2 dynamically updated during a run/cycle. The standard Garmin VO2 reports (which are static not dynamic) do not take elevation into account as I understand it. So if you run up a big hill VO2 will be worse than running on the flat. I wondered if this app does or could integrate elevation, which would be very neat (perhaps the maths is too hard). I know it can only ever be an estimate outside the physiology lab, but lets face it we are all obsessed by VO2 and the more accurate you can make the estimate the better. Keep up the good work.

Is OK. But, it's not clear what the parameters mean. The parameters differ from the pics here....Would be nice to change them to that what I need. Interesting is, that the calculation of the VO2 max differs significantly from the calculation by Garmin. With Garmin I have 43, with this app I have more than 50....!!! I need reliable information...

Very good app for Garmin 5x. It works very well and I am able to check my v02 max improvement using a treadmill during indoor training session. Great work! Keep going on! Why it is not possible to overwrite the garmin v02max value with your value? Or better, how about to let the user know the new value after each training session asking if he/she wants to overwrite the new value into the garmin vo2 max field?

Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately, the overwriting of the VO2 data is not allowed by Garmin, although it could be great ! Maybe in the future...

Hi, I'm using Forerunner 935 & sync it with an Android phone. How do i set to display this datafield once I've downloaded the Apps? The steps givens below seems not applicable for my devices. *This is a data field not an application and needs to be added to a single data screen within a sport activity. 1- go to settings, apps, sport activity, data screen, screen 1 2- set layout to 1 field 3- set field 1 to ConnectIQ Fields, JMGDTFRunningVO2

Hello and thanks for your comment. The procedure is absolutely applicable for your device (like many others). Just open a sport activity, normally the running app (or create a new one), select a screen and configure it by selecting the one field layout then, select the IQ app choice and select this DF, save changes, you should have the DF displayed within this activity. Note that this procedure should be mentioned in your device manual.

Love this data field, great app to give me a good VO2max read out. Minor gripe....the data field is not showing in Garmin Connect after syncing the Fenix3HR to my iPhone

Really fantastic data field for running!!! Big thanks!!! But Is it possible to make something like this for getting VO2 datas from indoors strength activities or indoors mountain climbing? And would be good also to put there the count of activity steps with saving them in fit-file, because Garmin removed it from GC at all:-(

This doesn't seem to work: the VO2 curve is just a scaled version of my pace. I get maximum VO2 when running downhill and not working hard at all, while VO2 drops a lot when I run uphill and my heart rate is way up.

Awesome data field!!! I don't normally do reviews, but I'm making an exception for this. I'm an older guy trying to stay in shape, and keep the weight I lost (125 pounds) off. I love to run, but have to do all my running on a treadmill with a cushioned deck to save my knees and hips. This data field gives me what Garmin won't, a good estimate of my VO2 Max while treadmill running. I like knowing what my VO2 Max is, and have watching it improve. Thanks for the awesome Data Field!!!

Hi, I have a Garmin 235 and haven't gotten a VO2 max reading from it after having it for almost a couple months. So thanks for making an app where I can finally see some of that data. I have injuries so I do most of my workouts on the elliptical. Does this app use a formula for deriving the VO2 max that is compatible with elliptical workouts? Also, is this the type of app that will learn over time, increasing in accuracy as it goes? I got a mean VO2 of 16 something and a max of 61..which I'm not thinking is very accurate. That was just from a 10 minutes walk/run. Thanks!

Hi I like / love your data field! Its show realistic VO2 value. Its a must! E.g. for treadmill. But I don't understand how I can use the saved fit file. Its marked to save into fit, of course. But I see no diagram or value under the run event? I had try to synchronized over the mobile app (ios), wifi and Garmin Express my Fenix 5. What can do with the fit file and where is it, in a folder?

I really like this app. However, it crashes after about 23 minutes of exercise. Can this be fixed? I will gladly give a 5-star if this issue is fixed.

Hello GJFN and thanks for your comment. There is no report of trouble at all with this DF so, if you experience difficulties with it, I invite you to send me an email with a detailed description of your problem (eventually with screen captures) so, I will be able able to help you to find a solution.

works fine in garmin 735xt...it gives me a better result than vO2max calculated by garmin but it's ok because this value of this app is the same with the one measured in ergometric test i have done!

Hi, Unfortunately the app doesn't show VO2 in real time, it has shown constant 0,12 yesterday. Am I misunderstood anything related the using of the app? Thanks, Balázs

Very good with new features. Only a tip, if you accept it. Add the chance to add the final cardiac drift as summary at the end of workout (on Connect of course). Drif is important related to long run (it's a nonsense, imho, use drift in interval workout for example) so to have it as simple value in connect at the end of workout should be great. No need of graph, imho, only the final value. Thanks.

Very useful app !! Should be great to add, to have a complete view of the cardiovascular fitness, the cardiac drift too. With these features (vo2 e cardiac drift) together will be a killer application !!

Hello Sergio, and many thanks for your comment. It is a great suggestion, and I will try to add this feature soon, if possible. I need time to think about calculating and coding it.

No lo he usado pero hace mucho que buscaba una funcionalidad como esta. Según veo en los comentarios es muy buena y ya estoy ansioso por usarla. I have not used it but it has long been looking for functionality like this. As I see in the comments is very good and I am already anxious to use it. Best Regards from Dominican Republic

This App is great. Does what it is supposed to do. Yet the calculation für V02 seems to be somewhat off. Every other app on the market says my V02 average is between 52 and 49. Yet this app calculates it between 39 and 40. When I am running fast it switches to 67+. So this is very confusing for me.

Resposta do desenvolvedor
11 de Julho de 2017, Surfy66

Hello Lukas and thanks for your comment. This DF is intended to calculate your VO2 max and the average of each VO2 max, but absolutely not your average VO2 during your session. So, 67 VO2 max with this DF for a known calculated average VO2 between 49 and 52 seems to be some quite coherent.

Infelizmente, não há nenhuma estatística disponível ainda.
