The server installation is outside the scope of this app, but if you use the 'Contact Developer' option, I might be able to help you anyways! Plex is easiest and available on most OSs for self-hostng. Depending on the watch, you might need a domain name + https certificates, which is the difficult part. Nextcloud and Subsonic both have subscription services available as well. Feel free to contact me if you need help!

I was so excited that Submusic brought support to Plex sources. Finally an easier way to manage music on my watch than having to use the USB cable to the computer and manually managing MP3 files. Now I did have to do some prep work on my Plex side to get things ready to work, but honestly it's work I should have done anyways. The developer was helpful and responsive through this setup and I'm excited to have everything working. Give this guy a donation for making this app that we're all going to benefit from.

Thanks for your review! The app is completely free to use at the moment (of course you can donate if you like the app, but it is not required). You need to setup your own music server for it to work though. If you need more info or help, use the 'Contact Developer' option or read the GitHub Readme. Very nice app for sync of playlist from nextcloud to watch. I did find that with subsonic method watch will claim to sync successfully but not actually download or update the playlist for offline listening. I switch server setting to ampache method and that seems to work better. Nextcloud music supports both so minor issue. Great app!

Sounds like it would work great but none of the servers work and I can’t download any music. In fact it just brings up “error HTTP - - >GarminSdkError::UNKNOWN_ERROR” every time want to browse or do something.

Save yourself the time and frustration. You need a music server backend with ssl certificate which would be nextcloud, subsonic, ampache or something similar. They need to be set up with SSL. If you have never done this and don't already have this sort of system running, this will take you around 3-4 hours between reading and cursing. My suggestion if you just want to put music on your watch: Copy MP3 files directly to the Music folder on your watch after connecting it via USB. This seems to work for now on linux for me.

The first line in the description states the app can 'synchronise [] from your own music server: Nextcloud - Subsonic - Ampache - Airsonic', so yes a server is required. If it is too difficult to install one, there are services available that will do this for you. (SSL is only required for some devices). Of course, SubMusic is easiest to use if you are already actively using a music server and it's playlist feature. If you are having trouble setting up SubMusic or in case you have ideas for improving SubMusic, please choose the 'Contact Developer' option.

You can follow the progress in this GitHub issue: https://github.com/memen45/SubMusic/issues/38 In the mean time, you can manually add albums to a playlist and then sync the playlist. This worked great until a few days ago. Most likely since a Nextcloud upgrade to 22. I am using a Vivoactive 4 with ampache and LetsEncryp on NC but I only get GarminSdkError::-300 Error HTTP and NETWORK_REQUEST_TIMED_OUT. Thank you for hints where to look at to solve this.

Awesome app! The developer is extremely quick at fixing issues. I got it working using both airsonic-advanced (docker) and Ampache on a local server. This is the solution I needed, as I didn't want to change to Spotify or Deezer. It allows syncing playlists directly to the watch, without needing to plug it to a PC to upload music.

This is not a watch app. You can use SubMusic by opening your music player, then enter the settings menu, choose 'Music providers'. Here the SubMusic app should be listed and is ready to use! Make sure you have filled in the correct settings in the Connect IQ app - SubMusic - Settings page to login on your music server. Hope this helps! Please choose Contact Developer in case you still have questions on how to use the app.
