This data field shows the time until the next "sun event", i.e. sunrise or sunset. Alternatively you can set it to show the clock time of the event.</p><p></p><p>Civil twilight</p><p>You can set the data field to use the time of twilight (civil dawn and dusk) for its calculations rather than sunrise and sunset. This gives a better idea of how much light or darkness is left. The device display uses the words Dawn & Dusk, whatever the language, to show what you have set. The default is sunrise/sunset.</p>

Excellent! As another reviewer noted, I also upgraded from the GPSMAP 62 to 66, and was really disappointed that the sunrise/sunset countdown on the 62 was nowhere to be found on the 66. The 66 can show the sunrise/sunset time, but it's much more convenient to be able to just glace at the screen and know how much sunlight time is left. The only problem I see is that when the screen switches to "night" colors, the background of this field becomes totally black, which doesn't match the background of the other fields. That's just cosmetic, and doesn't affect its functionality.

Gracias por la aplicación me resulta muy útil. En mi opinión también sería interesante poder elegir la hora civil de la puesta de sol, así la información del tiempo de luz restante sería más exacto. En cualquier caso genial, gracias !! La uso en un GPS MAP 66S y funciona perfecto.

Garmin Edge 1030. Hace justo lo que necesitaba, encender y apagar la luz en función de si es de día o de noche. Cuando llega la puesta de sol, la luz se enciende sola y se apaga a la salida. Genial.

Thanks for your review. Please see "Customizing the Data Screens" on page 16 of the (English) user manual for help. Basically you add any new data field to one of the visible data screens for your activity. If you need further assistance the "Contact Developer" link is a better way to ask for it. Don't forget to include your email address for a reply.

I used a GPSMap 62 for hiking and other outdoor activities for many years and I loved the countdown to sunset information on the trip computer page because it would enable me to easily calculate when I needed to turn-around on my hike so I could finish before dark. I am now using a GPSMap 66 and sadly, this GPS does not have this functionality so Simply Sun Time is a godsend. I have been using it now for several months and it works flawlessly! Thank you for the great app!!
