Möchtest Du parallel zu einer Applikation (z. B. Golf) eine Distanzmessung ausführen? Dann ist dieses Widget vielleicht etwas für Dich.

Die Bedienung ist extrem einfach gehalten: dadurch, dass eine laufende Applikation mit der Zurück-Taste unterbrochen wird, lässt das Widget keine Tastendrücke zu. So bringt Dich ein Druck auf Enter wieder zurück zur Applikation.

Hier die Bedienung: Golf-Applikation mit der Zurück-Taste unterbrechen und das Widget starten. Die Farbe des Rings zeigt Dir an, ob GPS verfügbar ist. Warte, bis Du die Farbe Grün siehst und die Messung wird automatisch gestartet. Dann kannst Du loslaufen und der Wert in der Mitte zeigt Dir die zurückgelegte Distanz in Meter an (Hinweis: um genau zu sein wird die Luftliniendistanz zwischen dem ersten gemessenen GPS-Punkt und dem jetzigen GPS-Punkt berechnet). Nun kannst du einfach auf Enter drücken und kommst zurück zur Golf-App.

Aufgrund Garmins Energie-Richtlinien schaltet nach einer gewissen Zeit Deine Uhr automatisch wieder auf die laufende Applikation um. Das kann man nicht verhindern. Sollte das passieren, während Du eine Messung ausführst: kein Problem: starte das Widget neu, wenn du an deinem Zielpunkt angelangt bist und warte auf GPS-Empfang. Dann kannst du vom obigen Wert die Distanz ablesen.

Optional über die Widget-Einstellungen (How-To: http://goo.gl/W7dGaV) kannst Du auch noch den Summenwert aus obigen und mittleren Wert im unteren Feld anzeigen lassen. Das ist gut, wenn das Widget bereits wieder auf die laufende Applikation umgeschaltet ist und Du kurz vor deinem Zielpunkt bist. Dann kann das Widget bereits nach GPS suchen, während du noch läufst.
Bei der Summe kann man in den Widget-Einstellungen wählen, ob man eine einfache Summe der oberen Werte haben möchte oder die Distanz zwischen dem letzten Widget Start und jetzt.

Weiterhin bietet das Widget über die Widget-Einstellungen ein helles Aussehen (u. U. höherer Kontrast).

Do you want to execute a distance measurement in parallel to your app (e. g. golf app)? Then this widget is maybe for you.

The usability is extremly simple: if you break a running application with the back key, a widget allows no key presses. Instead e. g. an Enter brings you back to your application.

Therefore you have to follow these instructions: break your Golf application with the back key and start the widget. The color of the ring will show you whether GPS is available. Wait for a green ring and the distance measurement starts automatically. Now you can start walking. The middle value will show you the distance in m (note: to be precise: the direct distance is measured between the first and the current GPS location). Press Enter to get back to your golf application.

Due to Garmins energy policy the watch switches automatically back to your running application after some time. This is not preventable. If this happens during your distance measurement: no problem. just start the widget again if you are at your target position and wait for GPS. You can now find your distance in the upper field.

You can optionally show in the bottom field a sum value out of the upper and the middle value via the widget settings (a how to: http://goo.gl/W7dGaV). This is good for if the widget is switched back already automatically by the watch to your running application. If you are short before your target location you can call the widget during you walk the rest of the way and the watch has time to gather GPS signal. So you don't need to wait for that signal gathering.
The sum can be choosen from two different kinds: a simple sum and the distance between the last widget start and now.

Furthermore the widget offers optionally a bright theme.
