Here are a few things that might help you out. 1. The connection between any CIQ app running on a Garmin device and the outside world happens by way of the Garmin Connect Mobile app (GCM). The TrainingPeaks mobile app does not play a role in the communications. So make sure that the GCM app is open on your phone and that the app recognizes the watch/device; and if the device is syncing with the GCM app wait for that to finish. 2. Make sure that you are using the latest version of the GCM app and the that your device has the latest firmware. Gamin is constantly improving on the communication between the device and GCM app, and typically improvements are released for both the GCM app and device at the same time. Great app, but I would like to ad new data fields as cadence and speed to the main screen

We are not able to directly make any modifications to Garmin's workout interface, but we can send your feedback to the the team and Garmin. We are requesting that the data fields on the workout screen be customizable. This would allow you to add cadence and speed to that screen.

Impossible to run a power based structured training on the watch. Totally disappointed, please work with Garmin to quickly fix this. No need to tell me i can work around this issue adding a custom data page, i know that but I want the TP widget to control power as it should be.

We totally agree that this is something that needs to be figured out. This is currently affecting all running power data fields: Stryd, Runscribe, and even Garmin's own Run Power. We have passed this request to both Garmin and Stryd and hope that they can come up with a solution. This is a limitation, or feature, of the CIQ platform. CIQ apps and data fields are unaware of other CIQ apps and data fields so they can not communicate between each other. Stryd's data field displays a value with the label "Power", and we humans interpret that value as running power, but the device/machine does not know that this value should be interpreted as power. That gap is what is causing the issue. The "TP widget" is only used to download the .FIT workout file that contains the instructions for your workout. Once you are performing the workout the screen you are using is Garmin's workout screen. Garmin gets around this issue by not letting users set power targets to run workouts. That is not something we plan to remove from the TrainingPeaks workout builder.

Use the app for running work outs on my Garmin 935 with the Stryd power pod. The power pod is connected with the garmin and I can show the power data on the screen of the Garmin using the Stryd data field - and they are registered. Unfortunately the power data are not visible in the TP app during the work out. Only '--' is shown. How can I correct this?

Once you are performing the workout you are back in Garmin's workout interface, which only shows power values from power meters that the device is directly paired with. Stryd, Runscribe, and even Garmin's own Run Power report their values as a custom data field, and the device does not know that the custom value should be interpreted as a power value. To get around this, you can add the Stryd, Runscribe, or Garmin Run Power data field to a custom page. i changed my TP account. How do I update my new TP in the watch?

The app has a logout option that, but it is a bit hidden since it is not something that is needed that often so we keep it out of the way. Here is what you need to do, it is easier than it sounds. Launch the TrainingPeaks Connect IQ app on your device and let it do its thing. From there press the back button, the 5 o'clock button on watches, until you get back the the screen with just the TP logo. From here you can access the menu, press holding the 9 o'clock button on watches, where you will see an option to logout. Once you are logged out, the app will immediately prompt you to log back in, and you can log in with your new TrainingPeaks account. . There is seldom a need to create a new TrainingPeaks account. Stopped working today again. Began with a "BLE Countdown" error. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app again. Could not get the 1.06 version to load. Keeps asking me to log in to training peaks every time I connect. Last time this happened I had to do a full reset on my watch to get it to work again. I'm not spending another hour re configuring all my data fields, only to have to do this again in another 2 weeks. App's best use is the data field telling you if you are in the right zone for each phase of your workout, very useful and not available otherwise. If you don't carry a smartphone with you everywhere (don't laugh), you need to load your workout at home and then leave the watch in the activity mode for the workout, meaning you can't use the watch as a watch. If you exit the activity, the workout is gone (because it is not stored on the Garmin device) and must be downloaded again with a mobile device. I'm really invested in TP with a premium subscription. I just wished everything talked to each other with better regularity.

So make sure that the GCM app is open on your phone and that the app recognizes the watch/device; and if the device is syncing with the GCM app wait for that to finish. Make sure that you are using the latest version of the GCM app and the that your device has the latest firmware. Gamin is constantly improving on the communication between the device and GCM app, and typically improvements are released for both the GCM app and device at the same time. Version 1.06 requires a newer version of the CIQ platform than v1.05, so it maybe that your watch requires a firmware update before the store will allow you to install v1.06. However, v1.06 was released in April, and the only change was to add support for a newly released Garmin device. There were no functional changes to the app. So you can stick with v1.05 if that is all the store will allow you to install. The workouts are saved by default to the device and can be accessed later on without needing your phone or using the TrainingPeaks IQ app. The workouts can be accessed through Garmin’s interface. Make sure that you know the name of the workout you are looking for. This is from Garmin’s help site: 1. From the watch face, select START. 2. Select an activity type 3. Hold the “9 o’clock” button to enter settings 4. Select Training & My Workouts.‍ 5. Select a workout. Look for it by name. 6. Select Do Workout. 7. Select START to start the timer. I can see I'm in good company: spent hours trying to download and get apps to talk to each other. Then tonight, I get the 104 error code. Brand new 935 that I bought purposely for this sync feature. Extremely disappointed.

I dont know what you've done but thanks your ruined my train for today because the app is looping. I'm not abble to load my plan. I've try to update to the latest version and it's the same problem. The app is stuck on trainingpeaks logo. I have the forerunner 935 and it ws working like a charm but since today it doesnt work anymore. Will you give me back my money for annual subscription witch is useless without the app?!!

This issue is common among power users of the app. The watch can only store a fixed number of workouts, which has nothing to do with the amount of available storage on the device. This number is defined by Garmin, and we have been told it can not be increased. Once the number of workouts stored on the device is reached then our app exhibits the behavior you experienced, where it looks like the workout is downloading but then the app just goes back to the TrainingPeaks logo. The fix is to delete the older workouts. Connect IQ apps can not delete files from the device, so this has to be done manually. Plug your device into your computer, go to /Garmin/Workouts, and delete all the files. After that you should be good to go. Just FYI, if you use the app consistently then you will run into a common issue where it looks like the workout is downloading, but then the app goes back to the TrainingPeaks logo. "The main workout screen is not customizable, but you can add 3s power average and cadence to a custom screen".....If i leave workout page to watch a custom screen (power 3s, cadence, etc), app send me: "too high power", "too low power-high"....several times ! Please, insert 3s or 10s power and cadence ! Thanksssss (garmin edge 820)

Great app for my Edge 820, but would love to see a few quality of life changes. On the main Training Peaks IQ workout page, that power should be 3sec avg, or customizable. I'd also like to see cadence on the main page. I realize I can add these on another data screen, however when you fall outside the power range for the current workout segment, it completely blacks the screen out with the "Too Low" or "Too High" warnings - this is super annoying, as many times I'd rather be on a secondary screen to look at other data, but in a very tight power range, too many times the screen is completely unusable because of the delay in going from the "too high" warning back to normal.

Agree with other reviews on the Garmin 935 - whatever update was recently pushed broke all compatibility with the 935. Either never loads or loads error code. Which is bad because it was one of my favorite features when it worked.

Sadly i'm also getting the -400 error.. and this in the middle of my training plan.. App doesn't want to update to 1.0.6. correctly and getting the -400 error on my Fenix 5x plus. When the app works it's great! Sadly this is not now!

This app should remove the forerunner 735XT as a compatible device. It is not!! All it does is pretend to download a workout from trainingpeaks and freezes when I try to start the workout.

I already installed the training peaks about 10 times but it does not work. Always install version 1.0.5 and never 1.06. I do not know what else to do. I've already deleted everything ... Restored garmin factory settings and reinstalled the traning peaks and nothing.

Version 1.06 requires a newer version of the CIQ platform than v1.05, so it maybe that your watch requires a firmware update before the store will allow you to install v1.06. However, v1.06 was released in April, and the only change was to add support for a newly released Garmin device. There were no functional changes to the app. So you can stick with v1.05 if that is all the store will allow you to install. The app in itself is good when it works. Unfortunately the connectivity between TP on your phone, Garmin Connect, and your watch/device is just te-ri-ble. A world of frustration an athlete can definitely do without.

It's really great and I like it a lot. I am not running with a power meter so I can't say anything about that. The reason why I only give 4 out of 5 stars is that the pacing of the workout page is different than that on the "Garmin page" where one of they fields is my pace. Sometimes the pace on the workout page (where I also see the range I should be running in) shows 05:40 min/km but I am actually running with a pace around 06:45...so almost 1 minute difference which is really a lot. If this can be fixed then I also am willing to give 5 out of 5 stars.

Once you are performing the workout you are back in Garmin's workout interface, so we can not say for certain what is happening with the pace value. The issue may be that the watch is showing instantaneous power on the workout screen and the average pace for the lap on the other screen. It seems like a few other people asked this same question in Garmin's forums. https://forums.garmin.com/forum/into-sports/running/forerunner-735xt-aa/152427- We will pass this along to Garmin and see if we can get an answer for you.

Honestly, the website is very good; but it is impossible to send a training "by power" to the clock (Fenix 5). When sending the training, it synchronizes very well, you can see the different parts of the training that you are going to do; but at 3-4 seconds, the screen goes blank and you can not do the training (this happens to more users). In contrast, with heart rate, or speed, there is no problem. You can not follow a power workout on the clock when you run !! I have the Garmin apps to measure the power, but, the TrainingPeaks app gives errors in training (in race) by power. Regards!
