You can also change speed units in settings. Ideal for short speed runs to see max speed reached, without getting distracted by looking at the watch during the run. I came up with this data field for kiteboarding, where it is dangerous to look at the watch while trying to get top speed. Also, if you accelerate before the jump, most likely it will also show your jump take off speed (if you look at it right after the jump).</p>

Fantastic data field for speed sports like sup surfing, kayak surfing, cycling, sprinting, etc. Much more useful than the default “max speed” data field on my Garmin since it resets based on the time interval you set. When cycling for example, I can view my top speed from my last hill or sprint once I’ve slowed down and it’s safe to glance at my watch. Then I can do another hill and see my top speed for that interval. There was an older version of this data field which was automatically set to 60 seconds instead of customizable - but I still keep it on my watch since different time lengths are useful for different sports. :-)
