This is a must for MTB app.
Best app by far.
I would have to agree with the other negative reviews for this app on my 830. It is not at all even close to what you experience with the TF app on a mobile. If i knew then what i know now, i would have found a used mobile, installed the TF app, and lashed it to the handlebars and used it as my nav buddy. The TF app on the 830 is pretty much useless. The resolution is terrible and even with the latest updates, the TF mapping is not current. I really like garmin products and the company as a whole, so i hope they can get this right in the future.
Refuses to set a radius for routes - fundamentally unusable - I bought the 830 for this specific feature. Total misinformation.Avoid!
The Trailforks app does not work well with the Edge 830 (Yet!!!). It causes all kinds of issues with the mapping features of the Edge 830. I returned my first 830 thinking it was a bad unit, but I'm experiencing the same issues on the replacement unit. Navigation stops working. The map screen loses detail when the Trailforks app map screen is enabled. Some Trailforks routes show up and others do not. Worst of all, the longer your MTB ride, the more your 830 will be effected. Ride distance and other data become inaccurate and gets worse and worse the longer your ride is. Not sure if it is a memory issue or what, but it is really frustrating. Hopefully a future software update will fix all of this, but until then I would not recommend using this on the 830 as it will cause all kinds of issues for you.
Love the app.
Can't set radius in settings because everytime it is set the app shows it's not and won't let you continue. So you can have cancel settings to exit.
Bought the Garmin edge 830, well, just beacuse i thought trailforks routes and maps would be preinstalled completely, so i dont have to download each route... and when i want to open maps, it fails..
The app keeps saying: mapdata cannot be unlocked. What am I doing wrong?
