Hi there, I am trying to download this app on my iPhone Garmin connect to subsequently get it on my Garmin Venu. But the installing freezes. It keeps on trying to install for half hour to an hour and it is not clear if any progress is made. Can you assist? Nynke

As always a great app..Just wish the maps was more topo based like the osm topo ones..Would gladly pay for a choice of maps...Also how do we use wifi sync? thanks for the hards work...

Loved this app. I just got my watch and mainly was planning on only getting the Garmin Venu sq for navigation and didn’t want to spend an arm and a leg. Was bummed to find out the watch didn’t come with a built in gps app. So i started looking and found this “maps4garmin” and looked that pictures and instantly downloaded it. I was SO surprised at how accurate this little watch and app combo are. I will admit the phone gps is better but if I’m out running without my phone and get lost or whatever i can just pull this up and see exactly where i am. It has a 15x zoom on it and you can zoom in or out to your liking. I took it up to mount Hood in Oregon today and was blown away that it even had the US forest service roads on it. Love this app. Highly recommend.

The developer understood the assignment. This app is LIT. On top of all that, it’s FREE. Works perfectly. I’ve been using this app since it first came out, and every update is better than the last. The one time I had a problem, I emailed the developer (“send feedback” from watch’s main menu) and developer responded quickly and helped me out (mostly a user error anyway). The weather radar is a fantastic feature—Info that’s very helpful at a glance during a run. The radar feature is totally worth the $2.50 premium ($2.50 FOREVER, NOT per month or per year). Best Garmin map and weather app. I’m obsessed with it!!!

Really nice App. Is there an android companion coming too? (like the iPhone app in your beta). Would love to have the option to save maps for offline use and of course to upload a gpx track

Ok, I've had enough. Sometimes I'll get a map but 95% of the time I get nothing but the blue IQ symbol with a yellow exclamation point. Only way to get rid of that is to uninstall and reinstall. Something basic is off with the app. So it is now permanently uninstalled.

Se ven bien los caminos grandes pero tiene pocos detalles, además la app depende 100% del Móvil y de su conexión a internet, no es offline. De necesitar el móvil son mucho mejores los mapas y las apps que puedes instalar en el móvil y resulta mejor usar el móvil si debes llevarlo para que funcione...

Works flawlessly on vivoactive 4s. This app absolutely nailed two apps that I was looking for. A map with location is far superior to some navigation instructions. For someone living in ireland, with its unpredictable showery rain, a rainfall radar beats that "50% chance of rain" for accuracy. Well worth the money. Is it possible to add the CyclOSM layer from open streetmaps as well... it has mountain contours for hikers i would gladly pay more for that. Not sure if it's possible.

Great if you want constant advertising - in this case it spams your Garmin with a Bible app ad. No way to get rid of it either. Also app can't be fully deleted without resetting watch. Be warned.

Hi, thanks for the review. First let me introduce myself. I’m a 17 year old high school student, trying to navigate my senior year. I’ve been spending hundreds of hours building Maps4Garmin over the past few months. Most other developers’ maps apps cost money, while I’ve been giving mine away for free. The majority of my users only use the free maps. I do understand that people who pay premium services generally expect to be exempt from advertisements. I am working on an update to address this issue, and I expect to have the update out by the end of the year (finals are coming up!). In addition, in the last few days I have reduced the amount of “ads”/announcements for all users. As far as the “ads” go that the users get, as of now, they are only for: 1. Other free apps that I’ve created. 2. For a follow on Instagram. or 3. For a review. All of these cost the user nothing except for a small amount of time, compared to the hundreds of hours I’ve spent developing my apps. (As mentioned above, the frequency of these has been recently reduced and currently there are only 5 one-time “ads”, or announcements). Currently, Maps4Garmin can only display a max of 1 ad per app open. To dismiss the ad, simply use the same procedure you would use to exit any screen on your device (use the back button or slide right). I want to help you be able to uninstall this app, if you still wish to do so. Please email me about this. PS: I know you mentioned the Bible app “ad”. That “ad” currently runs only once. Of course, there’s no obligation to interact with it in any way. However, the Bible app is free to download, and I spent hundreds of hours on it. It’s my best app, and I’m passionate about it.
