My long sightedness slowly gets worse with age. I have two situations to deal with. One without glasses where I need an extremely simple, uncluttered display with high contrast. One with glasses where I can see fine detail on the face. The solution I have arrived at, which works well for me, is to hide details such as step targets, moon phase, sunrise and sunset times within normal features on the face. I have also broken with the idea of a fixed location for day and date. These are a hangover from real mechanical watches but such constraints do not exist in software. These move to a location where they do not interfere with the display of hands thus improving their discernibility.</p>

Nice clean face, meets all the developer objectives of legibility and no overlap of data with the hands whatsoever. Could use slightly better explaining in description for some details (for instance, notification count is the number of spikes of the line surrounding the alarm icon - another cleverly discreet indicator; and the obvious one: to get accurate sun times the fave needs a gps fix obtained by opening an outdoor activity and waiting for the green gps indication). It's a good and light face, good job!!

I figured out the steps indicator is at 9:00, intensity at 12:00, stairs at 3:00, and battery at 6:00. The indicators grow between the markers listed above. if you want to see for yourself, in connect IQ try setting the color of the indicator to dark grey and sync. It will disappear. Then set it to white and it will reappear. When you only have black and white on an Instinct Solar 2, the other colors are meaningless. Had you added this info and saved me the time I spent figuring it out, I would have given it 5 stars.

This is the greatest watch face ever! I already loved it, but then, just now with the reindeer—fantastic!! (Note I’m not someone who usually uses more than one exclamation point.) Will mention one thing that would make it perfect for me (and others with diabetes)—a space that allows for a ConnectIQ adjustable data field, if that’s possible, specifically the ability to display glucose values from the Dexcom CGM ( https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/9040cc1d-13de-4d48-a859-6c2a0cedec3e ). As of yet no one has created an analog Garmin face that includes this. Thanks again for such a clever, thoughtful app!

Hi Bryan I have emailed DexCom to see if they might be interested in collaborating with this. I have long thought displaying a graph of historic values and the current value on watch would be useful, with notifications for hypos etc... This would have to be as a widget or app rather than a watch face to get access to connectivity. An app would put a bigger drain on the battery but with the long battery life of many of the new flagship Garmin watches this might not matter too much. It could then record your glucose readings to Garmin Connect!

Would like to rate higher stars, but don’t understand all the face icons? As well as the changing lines between the 3,6,9, and 12 hash marks? I get the sunrise and moon phase, but what do the others represent?
