Would it be possible to apply the open swim filtering for the watch with open swimming mode ? In my experience, with the surftracker datafield that seems to work like your apps, it is much much more accurate both in terms of wavecount as well as total distance.

Unfortunately not without changing the sport type from surfing to open water swimming which means it wouldn't get saved as a surf in your Garmin connect history. If it's something you think would make a difference i can add it as an option but you'd have to edit the activity afterwards each time to change it from a swim to a surf yourself. drop me an email if you want it added, my watch doesn't do open water swimming so i don't have any experience of it :(

Thank you for making a surf app. I love the interface, very easy to see in the water, however the app crashed for me after every wave I took. In one way it's nice since I can see all the waves individually instead of a giant scribbly line on the GPS map (and I get individual wave data) but I didn't like that I needed to restart the app and wait for GPS after every wave. I was trying to be conscious of keeping the watch out of the water as much as possible but seemed like 10 sec under water might be what would make it crash. Gonna try modifying some settings and trying again (I assume default should work just fine though). Has a lot of potential and if this bug can be fixed I would definitely change my rating. Possible Features: -Have a data screen that displays the best wave of the session (longest distance/time) -Have an auto lap feature for each wave. There is no way to see any specific wave data once the session ends, only the best wave (longest wave ride distance and longest time of ride, highest wave ride speed). Would be nice to see how other waves compared. - It would be awesome if there was a way to display only the wave rides (similar to Dawn Patrol https://apps.apple.com/us/app/dawn-patrol/id1161014179). Currently seems like it just counts the waves and does a lap at 1 mile of paddling (which isn't really a useful stat). Just get lots of flack from Apple Watch fanatics and would love to have better data eventually. - Consider Total overall stats to add for the session: Total Wave Ride Time Total Wave Ride Distance Paddle Distance Total Strokes Avg Stroke Rate Max Stroke Rate Avg Distance Per Stroke

That's odd, I'll see if I can get it to output some debug data you can send over to see why it's crashing. Which watch are you using? It already does lap every wave and the total stats you mentioned but you are not seeing them because of the crash, and it doesn't lap every mile (maybe you have auto lap set to 1 mile in your watch settings?)

Thanks! Really nice app, works well! However, it would be nice to add a pause/resume later function and to put the wave count conditions directly on the watch to modify it live depending on the waves

Thanks, pause/ resume should be easy to do- I'll add it. Problem with altering wave count conditions in the app directly is Garmin doesn't want us entering data in the watch they want you to use the app so they removed the number entry feature from apps in the latest firmware, but I am trying to find a new way to input numbers as I also wanted to add a heat timer for contests and some other things so I'll look into it.
