I have two situations to deal with. One without glasses where I need an extremely simple, uncluttered display with high contrast. One with glasses where I can see fine detail on the face. The solution I have arrived at, which works well for me, is to hide details such as step targets, moon phase, sunrise and sunset times within normal features on the face. I have also broken with the idea of a fixed location for day and date. These are a hangover from real mechanical watches but such constraints do not exist in software. These move to a location where they do not interfere with the display of hands thus improving their discernibility.
7.3. I was hoping to surprise with the Santa animation but although it worked on the simulator it was too slow on my device. I hope this works better.</p><p>7.2. Support for VA HR</p><p>7.1. Bug fixes?</p><p>6.3. Minor update.</p><p>6.2. Fixed bug in notification code causing face to crash when alarm not present and 3 or more notifications present. I have temporarily given up with orientation of the moon other than rotating the image of the phase 180 degrees for the Southern Hemisphere. I will implement the projection of the moon's view based on its altitude and azimuth as a function of time at a later date once I have got to grips with their computation.</p>

Love it. Although I have a weird flickering on the Venu when it goes into low power mode.

Sehr hübsch, jung, flippig, bunt und unkonventionell. Der cyan-farbene Sekundenzeiger lohnt schon den Download. Funktioniert alles. Sollte allerdings der bescheuerte Weihnachtsmann (o. ä.) noch einmal über das Bild fahren, gibt es Punktabzug.

Thanks for fixing the Venu SQ compatibility issue so quickly! Works really great and is THE most clear and readable analog watchface option for the Venu SQ!

Hello, Your watchface is really very nice and efficient for my poor eyes, many thanks for your job. Is there a possibility to have white background option ? I read better with white background... Many thanks in advance, regards, Vince.

I really like this watch face it's great. I wanted an analogue face, that was simple and still looked good with the pixelated 735xt screen. Plus with additional moon phase and sun activity, it's a really great watch face. My only problem is recently it keeps switching back to the Garmin original face - I don't know if this is my watch or the face download, but I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, updating, but doesn't seem to sort the issue - can anyone help with this? I'd really like this watch face back

Simply put. The best analog face available. Very clear and creative design. Only issue is flicker in always in mode on Venu.

Thanks Ken. Nice to have such a positive review. I don't have a Venu so I am not able to test the flicker issue. Send me a video (if you are able to capture the issue - it may not be possible or may introduce other artefacts). Is it there all the time or just when awoken? All the best Drew

Clear. Well described. Well featured. I keep coming back to use this face and that speaks volumes. It is not flashy or whizzy to anyone but me - as per the description- the details are hidden in the watch face furniture. I also like the clarity of the maker in their unwavering vision for the face (and it’s defence in the comments). It is nice to wear a hand crafted watch that meets the goals of the maker not an audience. Thank you for sharing.

After latest update to version 2.5 supporting "always on display" (AOD) this is the watch face to use on Garmin Venue! Kudos to the developer for the readability of the watch face in the AOD mode as opposed to a number of other watch faces I have tried. Yes, it might affect battery life somewhat but if battery life is the thing I suggest to look at other watches in the Garmin range (i.e. Fenix).

Very nice and original watchface. Good job really. It would be definitely perfect for me if we could choose background colors, I love white background and blue foreground, I see better... Maybe soon?

Very, very good idea and watch face design! The thing lacking on Garmin Venu devices (with AMOLED display) is that "always on" display does not work.

Nice simple very clear watch face with clever progress bar placement. Love the constantly moving date - great design. As the developer says great for not so brilliant advancing years eyesight. Works great on my VA 4 but sadly will not display on my Fenix 5X.

Great watch face, very clear and uncluttered. Enjoying the date been not covered by the time hands and the cool feature of the sunset timing. Well done, thank you

Finally a watchface for a smartwatch that is smart: it prevents that the hands are drawn over the date. Also nice ways to show steps, stairs and battery. Also sunset and Moonphase are nicely shown.

Hello Drew, after i am very happy with your Intervall App and Stryd i seen this watch face and again i am very happy because i am wearing varifocals, totally good to read without eyeglasses too, thats fantastic!

Thanks. I originally created it for myself (and my long sight of old age) so I could read the face without glasses on. An absence of clutter on the watch face is really important on low contrast displays. I also wanted to show detail if I put my glasses on and so "hid" the extra information within the normal features of the face. I still get a buzz out of the sunset animation and find it a useful reminder in Winter to get out and do that run before it is too late!

I love this watch face! One question I have is that red dot is sitting near the one o’clock mark. It used to switch between sundown and sun up. What is that about? Thanks!!

The red dot is indeed an analog graphic indicating the time of sunrise/sunset. For this to work it needs to know your location, typically by doing an activity that uses gps or recording a location. There is also a larger disc that appears during the hour up to sunset and which sets on time. Glad you like it.
