This is a great data field. I have been using it almost everyday since down loading it at version 1.0. It gets better and better, and the latest "last speed" is a really great feature.
I have this on my main data screen for both my road and gravel cycling.
The "mytraffic.com" web site is also very good to use.
The only improvement would be if it could trigger a photon lazer at motor vehicles that come to close or are speeding.

Brilliant app -- adds a whole new dimension to ride data collection. The approach speed function is particularly awesome. Excellent work -- highly recommended!

Awesome addition to the 530!

This thing is amazing. Its install and forget. And you get how many cars passed you and approach speeds.
Thumbs up to developer!

Thank you for this amazing IQ App!

I’m incredibly sorry about your accident. I’ve had several near misses myself prior to using this app but it’s incredibly helpful for me to analyze the higher danger areas and times to avoid. Terrific program!

This is an awesome addition to my 530. It gives me more information about the car approaching, specifically the approach speed. It’s good to be able to judge how worried I need to be based on speed differential. Thanks for the hard work on this!

This app is awesome and works fine on Edge Explore 820

Works great on a Garmin 1030 plus. I have the data field set to only display approach speed. Thanks for making this available!

Danke!

Very nice app. Thank you for your hard work making this app!

Cool app. I’m sure the information can be useful to route planning apps like Komoot to provide cyclists information about how busy a route is, and how dangerous (based on approach speed of cars)

1. the page has an incorrect data import link. However, the import via the Import submenu always returns a message that there is no radar data in the data file - no matter what file format you import.
2. application overloads Edge 530 - without the application my 50 km route eats 10% battery. After installing the app, the battery consumption increased to 14-15%. That is 4 less routes on a single charge.
3 I reported a problem with the site, with importing data - no response. If you don't give a damn about your users, then you get such reviews - simple.
I didn't find any advantages of using this application - lack of possibility to import and display data on the website, excessive battery usage is a bit too high a price for having the number of cars that passed me - anyway, such information itself is useless.

Wow, it's amazing how somebody could write this for a completely free service being provided to the community. I am investigating the battery issue. Also, this is the first time I am hearing about the "incorrect data import link" and perhaps your increased battery usage is somehow related to your data files not showing radar data when imported. Please attach your .FIT file in a message to me. I use this on my Garmin 1030 with no noticeable decrease in battery life. Also, there is always going to be a trade-off between extra features on a device that consume CPU and battery life. What do you expect me to do about it?

Absolutely amazing app, a must-have if you are commuting, it really does work quite well. Can you make it work to display car speed when the bike is stopped at 0 Speed?
7 marzo 2021 | Versione 2.2.1
Great idea !, Thanks
Would it be possible to separate the monitored data into 3 independent fields in a future version?
I mean, Vehicle count in one field, realative velocity into another field and absolute velocity in a 3rd field ?
That way the users can display the fields in different screens, the fonts can be larger.
One more thing, can you measure the distance from the vehicles?
If so, can you change each circle that show on the screen representing a vehicle approaching the bike by the estimated distance to the bike ?
This would be great in Edge units with larger screeens, specially 1030 and 1030+.

Works perfectly and gives more information than standard system. I find it very helpful to see the speed of the vehicle approaching you from behind.

Well done to the developer - great idea, well executed, particularly since the speed fields added. For SportTracks (mobi) users, the data is available on their charts, and is excellent. Looked for a way to donate, will do that when one becomes available.

I've got number and speed on Garmin Connect but not on MyBikeTraffic.com
17 gennaio 2021, MyBikeRadarTraffic
I recently updated the website to support drag/drop upload and managed to break the import feature without realizing it. So sorry about that, but I believe I have it fixed now. Please try to upload your ride again and let me know using the "contact developer" link if you are still having problems. Thanks, Brian Toone

Helpful to see data on traffic on segments for route planning.

Thanks for this addon it is a must having varia radar!
I have only issue with speed of cars. I'm using metric units and the speed (relative and absolute) looks significantly greater then I would estimate. I tried to check it under a street radar, but it doesn't show the speed in the data field when you stop. It looks the speed in km/h is about 1.5-1.6x higher then reality, but I have no chance to verify it. It could be a unit mix-up km .vs. mile...

Brilliant addition to my Edge+Varia setup!

Very good data field. The font is too small when selecting two data. And with four, it's completely a miniature. I am asking for a larger font
17 agosto 2020, MyBikeRadarTraffic
Thanks for the feedback. I agree that the font is too small, but the problem I've run into is if you ride on busy roads with hundreds of cars, the numbers from each field run into each other with a larger font. I'm working on an update that will dynamically resize the font today, so please give that a try once it is released and let me know if this helps.

thanks for the great datafield. I often turn off the light at daylight with another datafield. Would it be possible, to turn on the light, when a car approaches faster than 50kmh or a self specified speed? And if the car passed, turn off the light again?
11 agosto 2020, MyBikeRadarTraffic
Yes, this should be possible. I will look into adding this feature soon. It won't be activated by default, it will only be something you can enable via settings when you specify a speed at which you want the light to come on.

A must-have add-on for the Varia radar.

Really like the app but have to uninstall after notice varia battery life diminished. Cannot find way to uninstall though. Help please.
11 agosto 2020, MyBikeRadarTraffic
Easiest way to uninstall is through the Connect mobile app or through Garmin Express. Both have the ability to show you what apps you have installed with an uninstall option. Also, note that it should have no impact on the Garmin Varia battery life at all. The only way that you would see a decrease in battery life is if prior to using my app, you used to run the Varia by itself without having it paired to a Garmin display device such as the Edge series or Fenix series of watches. If that is the case, then yes, the process of pairing it and keeping it paired with the Garmin device does decrease battery. I think this would be an unusual situation though as most people like to have it paired with some sort of display device so that they can receive notice of approaching cars. For those people, there should be no decrease in battery life.
