Had to reset my watch. After 2 days (this was the only change made) my battery started draining at 89% per day. Not good. Not sure is anyone else had this issue. Loved the data, but I would have had to charge my watch every day and then some. Might as well go back to the Galaxy at that point.

Spent 81% of my workout time in Anaerobic/Maximum zones and my V02 Max is 41 and am almost in red zone??? I am using a Garmin Vivo Active 3 and have input my correct age, height and weight and the heart rate monitor is accurate.

Hey man ! Before posting such comment, you should know that the VO2 is not only determined with the HR value only, but with other parameters like speed, pace, etc. So, if you run "almost in red zone" at 3 mph, you can understand that you won't get the same VO2 max as if you run "almost in red zone" at 9 mph... That may probably explain your result, sorry.

Works greate. But is there a Option To Show it in the Garmin Connect App Like Garmin (smooths the vo2 all over runs). Since Garmin doesnt Show me the vo2 any more on my vivoactiv 4s i thought this App could Show me this insteat. But greate Job.thanks.

Great data field, a must have and definitely one I'd recommend to anyone. Performing a Cooper Test now with a warm up delay makes it perfect for me. Great developer, very good work!

first of all thanks for this wonderful datafield.
Today I tried it on a long run, and everything was working fine, incl. writing into fit file.
But there is one thing I do not understand. At the end of the run my Garmin watch (Fenix 6s) said VO2max of 46. But your data says between 30 and 34 during the run.
This seems to me a little bit far off ... almost 50%.
Do you have any idea what happended or what I made wrong?
Do I have to do any settings?

Hello Peter, and thanks for your review. The main difference between this datafield and the VO2 calculated by the firmware of your watch is that this datafield calculates your VO2 in real time, whereas Garmin smooths it all over your runs, which could explain the difference. The second thing to take in consideration is the reliability of the HR during the ride, as the datafield uses this datum to calculate the VO2. So, if your HR is not as accurate or reliable as it should be, the VO2 calculated in real time will not be accurate too and, as the datafield works fine for the whole majority of all the users (that it seems to be), this could also be the issue.

Hello and thanks for your comment. It's probably normal as there are two reasons when this datafield may vibrate: 1- your current HR exceeds your max HR (check if your max HR is correctly set into your profile); 2- you set the Cooper test with a duration of 0 mn. So, check those two conditions and this should solve the issue.

Bonjour Lessire et merci pour votre commentaire. Ce datafield fonctionne parfaitement, mais pour cela, il faut qu'il ait été intégré à un profil d'activité sportive, en l'occurrence ici, le profil course à pied. Ouvrez le profil course, entrez dans le mode édition du profil, choisissez un écran de données et paramètrez-le sur 1 donnée puis, intégrez le champ IQ Running VO2 comme nouveau champ de données. Sauvegardez la modification et sortez du mode édition. En défilant maintenant les écrans du profil sportif, vous devriez voir apparaître mon datafield. Lorsque vous lancerez l'activité, tous les calculs s'effectueront automatiquement, résultats que vous pourrez alors consulter dans Garmin Connect une fois votre activité synchronisée avec Connect. N'hésitez pas à me contacter par mail si vous rencontrez toujours des difficultés.

Did a test: Cycling app showed 5 ml/kg/min more than the running app at maximum (nearly same conditions, same pace etc). Is it possible to add watts (via Stryd for instance) to the running formula?

I have a Forerunner 735 XT and was really looking forward to getting an ongoing assessment of my VO2 max. I downloaded the app, and according to Garmin Express, it has been installed on my watch - but - where is it?
Suspect I have done something wrong and would appreciate any help offered!

Hello Nick. As explained on the description, this is a data field not an application and needs to be added to a single data screen within a sport activity.
1- go to settings, apps, sport activity, data screen, screen 1
2- set layout to 1 field
3- set field 1 to ConnectIQ Fields, JMGDTFRunningVO2

I've done a interval training to go at the max to obtain this result.
What is the difference in term of computation algorithm ? Which one is the "good one" ?
