Thanks for the review. This is a new Android Connect bug :( I had another user find a work around here is a link what to do. Hopefully Garmin will fix soon. https://www.fbbbrown.com/settings-menu-is-missing-in-connect-bug/ The other option is to use Garmin Express until Garmin fixes the Android Connect App. I suggest to leaving a post so this gets addressed quickly. The Connect developers are usually quite responsive. Here is the forum post listing this new bug. https://forums.garmin.com/forum/into-sports/garmin-connect-mobile-application/garmin-connect-mobile-android/1433951-no-settings-option-or-version-info-for-apps-installed-on-watch.

With a few adjustments in settings, This app works perfect using the Chest HRM-RUN. The floors and steps were right on. I got the bundle and made my watch what I needed.

.... . Sorry your having some porblems, but the stair stepper app requires calibration. Also uses Cadence or Steps to generate floors climbed, therefore a footpod or Chest HRM is required. If watch only, the watch hand must move to count floors.

Hello, I am a bit disappointed. It is not even counting the floors. A sprint 7 floors up indpors un 40 seconds, it gives me 1 floor and 5 calories. Is there an additional setup?

So I tried using this app with my Garmin 5s. I spent the money (it’s $1.29 all in all) and was very excited to start to train on the stair climber at the gym for an upcoming event involving climbing stairs for a cause at one of Miami’s high rises. I can’t get it to count steps however. When I contacted Garmin about it, turns out that I will need either the foot pod or the hrm run. Wish I would have known this before. That’s kind of a let down. So now I’m just trying to figure out which of these will work. When I contacted the developer by email, they haven’t responded. Come on guys, don’t create an app for a big company like Garmin and slack off - give me some support here!

I was using 10 minute trials, wished to purchase Stairstepper, but in 'PayPal without account' option, there was no "Turkey" country option. Not able to proceed! As I am not able to use full version, my evaluation is only 'Okay'. Regards

Seems very good and fairly accurate compared to the indoor Powermill stats when wearing chest HRM. For me the most important metric is vertical ascent so there should be a setting for 'Step Up Height' in the settings so a data screen can show total vertical ascent in metres/feet on one of the data screens.

I used this CIQ app together with my 735XT + RD pod + Footpod, I found that that it is very accurate when step per minute is over 78, if SPM is lover than that the number will just run wild. Without footpod and RD pod, you gotta move your arm for it to work. With footpod or RD pod alone, it is not accurate too. Wish list: I hope the steps I climb while I am using this app can be included into Garmin's activity steps. Meanwhile it doesn't.

Thanks for the review, I found the chest HRM Run provide near perfect results. The foot Strike sensor requires the running motion and stepping is close but not perfect, so your results are normal. Try the Chest HRM with cadence support you will be very happy.

The app need more cordination or more exact about calories, because 30 min training and only 44 cal and the machine show 380 something is wrong , please check this and make a actualization! !

Great app. Using with Garmin Forerunner 920XT and HR strap. Tracks floors climbed and HR well, but calories burned is about half what my stair Machine or the MyFitnessPal app shows. I did 45 min today and this app shows 220 calores burned but stairclimber and other fitness apps show 450 to 500. Is there a setting I'm missing?

All these apps by fbbbrown are excellent. They are well made and fill in some of the "missing" apps on my Fenix 3 that were on my Vivoactive 3. The developer responds promptly with any problems or requests. This is a first class app and I'm very pleased with my purchase.

I just got this app and I am extremely disappointed and will br asking for a refund. First off, when you buy the app it is not $0.99 but rather $1.29, there is a $0.30 "delivery" charge shadily added on. Second, it does not record heart rate appropriately and had mine pretty messed up from a 30 min bout. Thus my estimated cals are messed up. That is ok, i got good notes of my heart rate and cals from the machine so I can edit right? Wrong, unlike other apps for some reason you can not edit the data. Like I said, I am disappointed and want a refund.

Sorry you feel this way but if you are using optical heartrate the wrist movement will reduce the heart rate accuracy in all apps. This can be remedy by wearing a chest hrm. Using the watch alone the watch has to move to generate steps if you’re holding the machine, how can the watck (or an app) detect movement? Basing calories from a machine that doesnt account for gender, weight, height, heart rate and athletic ability is crazy. The machines increase the calorie values for marketing so you feel happy, but they are never correct. As for the paypal fee that a paypal thing i’m not happy about either. As for editing, no one cannot edit the data you mentioned from all apps (including fb3 apps). I will refund but i suggest getting a hrm-run(red) and all if your result will be accurate.

thanks for the review, in Connect, under the IQ Connect stats section is the floors climbed data. Sorry, Applications cannot modify the activity tracking which is computed in the watch firmware, however if your walking outdoors or stair climbing and the elevation changes the watch firmware will add to your activity tracking total.

I am using a Garmin Fenix 3 with a Garmin foot pod and Garmin soft strap. I have connected both devices in the sensor setting of the watch and I am still not getting a count on steps/flights unless I move my arms and even then it is sporadic. Any advice? I do a lot of stairs climbing in the gym and really want this to work.

Thanks for the review. Activity tracking “Steps” are generated by watch movement during or not during an activity (this includes a Stairmaster acticity). To count Activity tracking “Steps” the Watch as to move. The Stairmaster App uses cadence to count floors, but as to use the watch builtin Activity Tracking to report the Steps.

I'm not sure of the purpose of this app. When the exercise is complete, the only thing the garmin app displays is time and calories. There's stuff displayed on the watch during the workout, but it's too small to read when you're moving

thanks for your review, all data is available in Connect under Stats the IQ section. the ability to write to the main field is not available to IQ developers, this is due to the Connect developers do not follow the Garmin IQ API, i use the FIT File overrides but Garmin ignores my data i provide, however you will see the distance/floors data in 3rd party sites. I have more information concerning this on my help page. '...... http://www.fbbbrown.com/?page_id=1949#trouble

I finally got a chance to use this app and it worked great. My only problem is I have a Garmin foot pod and the steps weren't registering if I wasn't moving my arm. This was the entire reason I spent $60 on a foot pod, so I could use it with your app. Is there a setting that I don't have configured correctly?

Thanks for the review, Be sure to connect the foot pod to watch using the Find Sensor function. This Find Sensor function is found in the System Settings, after connect the Floor counting will register. The Activity Tracking Steps (i.e. total daily steps) is a function of the Watch, so the hand movement would be necessary for total daily steps function ( this a Garmin thing, i can not change).
