Got a new Garmin fenix 6X instead of my initial fenix (1). In old watch I defined my own kitesurf "app", relevant screens like race timer start/stop, speed, time, last lap speed, compass direction, satellite coordinates, etc -- all large fonts and easily readable/switchable on a rough sea. The new watch is overcrowded of the features, but cannot easily configure for my needs.
This Kite Tracker app is not at all suitable for my idea of kiting watch -- screen fonts are small, cannot read in action, start/stop is confusing, when the stopper started? Auto lap feature is missing (I like to know my speed in segments). Unable to scroll to the default watch face to see the time of the day during the activity. Jump height measure from barometric altimeter in a wind feels an hopeless idea.
Cannot start the activity without mobile connected to watch. Maybe this app doesn't work correctly in fenix 6X, but works better in other garmin watches. If pressing start and mobile is not connected, nothing happens. If mobile is connected, activity starts. Manual says that several things can be configured, but the settings page is not found at all in the watch. The fenix 6X is one with largest screens in garmin watch family, but putting 4 fields between bars side by side makes the numbers way too small for a bumpy ride. Two or three data fields per screen up to each other should be appropriate.

You obviously did not read then manual or you are using an old version.
All fields can be put on any of screens. Only 4 per screen, so the font it is pretty big. The start/stop screen shows a big green dot on the selected button. Auto lap is available by setting a threshold for lap deviation in the setting screen. Scrolling through the screen you will see the first screen again to get the time of day. Connection to a mobile phone is not needed. You can set the wind direction manually. The App can start with or without a connection. When the wind and temperature are not set, readings/jumps are inaccurate. The setting screen is not on your watch. It is in Garmin Connect. Please read the manual of your watch.

Great app once got it working! (no I didn't read the manual). Fantastic support when I asked loads of questions - easily configurable screens. Accurate data - better than a woo. Well worth paying the price of a bottle of wine for the pro version. Thanks to the developers for all their hard work
