The app works well. However the GPS smoothing algorithm needs work as the track is very jagged adding an extra 30% to the distance in my case. If you could mimic the gps smoothing that the Garmin Open Water Swim app this app would be unbelievably good

The swimming tracking is jagged, not smooth as is. The distance is get about 20% longer from the real.

Easy installation and integration to Garmin Connect. Plenty of configuration options for data on the watchface. Would be great if this displayed in app on the phone or Garmin Connect for later review. GPS very accurate.

First use worked well. Gps seems quite accurate. Glad my forerunner 245 now has an open water swimming option :) It took a little longer than normal to sync the activity with my phone.

Really great application and data fields!! Enjoyed my first use! (And will keep using!) The only issue I seem to have had was upon saving - the activity showed in my history, but the data was not there. I’m sure it’s just a matter of user error - I have read the FAQs and I will be checking out the settings! Great app, I’m really happy to have found a good swimming app for my forerunner 235!

first use, no problems. am querying the total energy used and how this is calculated. assume via current user settings. glitched after the activity ended in that the summary screen was frozen, but became unstuck after about 10 mins. will try out in a pool swim next

Nice app. But in Vivoactive 4 some issues with saving workout. In watch setting everything is set on meters. When i save swimming workout, then workout summary i see swimming length yards, not meters.

Very happy to find an app to use for open water swimming. I just can't figure out where to change it from yards to meters. The results show in yards. I also found that once saving the session the distance changed from what I saw when I 1st completed the session.

I have had a few issues with the application not being accurate in terms of distance. Sometimes it just stops. I like the format and its the best swimming application I have found and hope that it keeps improving

Great app to add OWS to the Venu line. The all white background is dangerous to AMOLED screen burn in, but can be inverted in the settings. Maybe it should default to black background on install?

Today, I have tried this app to track my 2.5km swimming in open water event. What I found was during activity everything n all stats were perfect. But when I clicked on Save and Exit, activity got saved with all wrong stats. Distance was 138m instead of 2500m , time was correct, calories were 15. Let me know if you guys need activity file to analyse and resolve this issue and if possible give me correct stats.

I have been using this app on my vivo active for about 2 years I've completed two 70.3 with it, and benchmarked against many other smart watches worm by friends during open water training Though absolutely not perfect and often wavy inaccurate GPS pings which makes for interesting maps I highly rate this app and encourage anyone who doesn't have open water on their device to use this app!!

Seems to work well how ever I stop to turn around and swim back and the app stopped tracking. Until I got back to the starting point then tracked a straight line from the rest point to the end point.

Thought it wasn't accurate for open swim for the distance it reports on the main screen, but if you go into the details the distance is actually accurate, completely different number. I wish this could go towards my swim challenges on Garmin, unfortunately it does not count.

Used this app today for the swimming part of a triathlon. Official distance was 700 m but the app only registered half of it. Swimming style was breaststoke. Tracking on the map looks more or less allright. Will continue to use the app and check the accuracy.

Better than the default Garmin Swim mode. However, not sure if its a limitation of Beta or it being in Manual Lap mode, any data field with Pace or Speed doesn't seem to be working. Only LL pace is working. I couldn't find any information on Pace Calculation as to whether it is taking information from GPS data or something else. Because in manual mode, anything to do with Speed or Pace doesn't i dictates anything so I'm suspecting it's relying purely on GPS data Also, I'm not exactly sure which feature would require Premium. A Text beside those feature would be nice.

Awesome App! I let‘s ne change the length of my used Pool below the minimum size of 17 Meters in the native Swimming App. It also has pretty low battery consumption, 30 Minutes swimming without gps just took 5% battery From my vivoactive 3. a further Feature i would love to see is to configure my visible Pages directly on the Watch, an not only in the Garmin IQ App. Trank You for This Awesome App!
