Best data field out there. Garmin has made the pace data field useless by over smoothing it. Takes forever to catch up to pace changes. But not with the exact pace data field. You will have almost instantaneous pace displayed in 1 seconds increment. I only wish I could add it to my new 255.

I am new to Garmin and my previous watch calculated pace to the second and was very responsive to pace changes. Surprisingly, the Garim F6 seems a bit slow to pick up changes in pace. That, coupled with the 5 second rounded pace, made it almost impossible to hit a specific pace target. I came across this data field and added to my main running page, EXTREMELY helpful as I feel it is much more in line with what I am actually running. Question for the developer: Is there a way to improve the speed at which the watch adjusts to pace changes? With biking, it seems to instantly adjust to acceleration and deceleration with incremental changes (14.1, 14.2 etc), just curious why running pace isn't as "snappy". For me it can take a good 10-20 seconds at times to display the correct pace.

With my garmin fenix 5 it worked perfectly. But with the garmin fenix 6 zafire version it blocks the device and I have to shut it down. Then I have to remove this App, if I don´t do so the problem persist.

Thanks for your information. At the moment I do not have a fenix 6 for physical testing (will bye a 6x Solar as soon as available) and can only use the simulation tool provided by garmin. There is no differnce in the data field coding between the devices. Maybe it's a bug in the Fenix 6 firmware or the IQ-runtime. Will try it out as soon as possible and if necessary I will adapt the coding. But have to wait for availability of Fenix 6x Solar. Will take a while. Sorry

I've been using this datafield on my 920XT for years - it's really helpful for intervals. I just upgraded to a 945 and forgot how annoying the default Garmin pace field is. Hoping I don't have to wait too long to get an update that supports the 945.

Works well on my vivo active. I like being able to look down and see what pace I'm running at that moment. The "current pace" on my Garmin 910 varies a lot. I've learned to ignore any readings that appear too fast or too slow for my perceived pace at that time. I've run with both the VA running the exact pace App, and my 910. The exact pace App appear to be more in line with what I am actually running at that moment. It will stay pretty steady, while my 910 will bump up and down quite significantly. Used the Exact Pace App on my VA for a 5k today and set a PR, in part, because I had the confidence to trust my pacing and didn't push harder needlessly because my 910 said I was running slower, or have a false sense of going fast enough when the 910 was running "fast".

This worked pretty good. Actually shows the 5 sec default pace is also good because the 'exact' pace was just a few seconds +/- different. It does record the pace calculated from the 920 which has been filtered. Would be interesting to see gps calculated pace not filtered.
