Installed it, edit lap distance in settings, sync with my fenix 5X and went to run data fields and there is no gardenrunner to select? Removed and reinstall and same issue. Then I remember something about Safire. Is the 5X Safire not supported?

Works great. Accuracy of 1% on a lap of 125 m, up and down my driveway with a fall of 4m over 10m. Wishlist: Ave pace be substituted with HR.

Hi Henco, thank you for this App! It saves a lot of time! Only problem is, the GardenRunner data does not appear at the bottom of my Second Tab in my running activity after syncing. How can I fix this? I have a Fenix 3HR. Thank you very much.

Thanks Albrecht. This is unfortunately an issue with Garmin Connect and the Fenix 3. The data is in the .fit file, but Connect does not import it. I will post info on the Paceband facebook page if I find a solution. Seems like after the watch type is edited in the fit file with a fit editor, Connect can import it correctly.

Thanks Henco; have enjoyed using the app. Takes some of the tedium out of garden running. My particular Garmin (Forerunner 645) has both a Resume and a Resume Later feature. I noticed that if I use the Resume Later feature the laps reset to 1.

Great app. Much needed. Is there any way of the Garden runner app's stats showing on Strava, rather than the standard inaccurate GPS data?

Hi Matthew, thanks for the feedback! I wish it could overwright the native distance/speed data so that if could display on Strava, but unfortunately the Garmin interface does not allow that. It would actually be great if it was possible! Only place currently is in Garmin Connect. I did include a feature in version 1.1 where it would remain on the main screen when you pause a workout, this will give you time to take a photo for "proof" if you prefer not to "snapshot" the Garmin Connect data :-)

Doesn't appear to work if you have to run up and down a driveway. Set a lap for one side (I.e. had to go out and back). Worked while I was running (press lap every time on the one side of the driveway) but when I saved, I lost 600 m (4.41 out of 5 km). And Garmin only recorded that smaller number. Pity.

Hi. Please email me at [email protected] Remember GardenRunner will display lap distance + part of lap not completed, but you normal distance saved will still be GPS distance. The point of this application is to additionally record your lap distance, GPS distance will always measure LESS. So if GardenRunner displayed 5km while running, you probably ran only 4.41km on GPS distance, and the point is GPS distance is not correct. If you want to see your GardenRun distance, scroll down on the second tab in your workout, it will display the 5km there. Pressing lap will have NO effect on garden runner. It detects your lap by position. Please email me and send me a screenshot of your workout (2nd tab, scroll to the bottom where the GRDistances are shown) then I can assist. 4.41 on GPS distance for a 5km on Garden run is typically what you can expect.

Works well and it is a great app, as it solves the problem not to run “further” with inaccurate GPS readings. Was able to change direction at my starting / lap point to run the lap in the opposite direction. I changed direction after a set amount of laps. I can recommend it.

Great app! Now I don't need to keep track of counting all those endless number of laps going around my garden.

Works well if you do all your laps in the same direction I think. I like to change my direction every 10 mins to give my body a break from all the turns in the same direction, but after doing this my distance was very inaccurate.

So I tried this out for the first time today. Works as advertised. You need to go into your data in Garmin connect and scroll all the way to the right in the lap data table to see the recorded data. While you are running you can see the information on your device. My Fenix3 has an annoying feature in that it obscures half the screen as soon as you press stop so you can't read the data on the screen when you stop the device and it is not available on the device after you save the activity. You need to go to Garmin Connect and scroll across on the table. Still - does the job. Suggested improvement: - Provide data in the table for the last uncompleted kilometer or mile. Thanks for making the effort Henko. The app is great for the lock down currently in force because of COVID-19

Thanks for the review Adrian. If you scroll right down on the second tab of your workout in Garmin Connect it will show you total distance as well as your average pace and number of laps. I will update the field so that it remains on the data screen once a workout is paused, good idea to keep displaying that instead of jumping back to the front screen.
