Do you want to execute a distance measurement in parallel to your app (e. g. golf app)? Then this widget is maybe for you.

The usability is extremly simple: if you break a running application with the back key, a widget allows no key presses. Instead e. g. an Enter brings you back to your application.

Therefore you have to follow these instructions: break your Golf application with the back key and start the widget. The color of the ring will show you whether GPS is available. Wait for a green ring and the distance measurement starts automatically. Now you can start walking. The middle value will show you the distance in m (note: to be precise: the direct distance is measured between the first and the current GPS location). Press Enter to get back to your golf application.

Once I start the widget, I can't get back to the golf app on my Fenix 5 and I need to reboot the whole watch.

I love this aps. Although the descriptions were a little bit confusing, once you started using it, it became clear and very user friendly. This aps wouldn't be necessary had Garmin autoshot tracking worked flawlessly, or at least a manual shot detection button is provided in the golf app. Credit to the developer, and shame to Garmin engineer who could not come out with a simple solution despite being asked by so many users in the forum.

I love the idea of the app because I’ve always wanted to know how far I can hit my ball. But I just starts counting when you start the widget I wish it will go base off of your swing.

I like the idea of this widget very much! Though found it to be not that exact. I used it to calculate distances on the practice area, but as soon as I started the widget it directly displayed I had moved 6m, although I hadn't moved at all. Also it would be nice for the start button to reset the widget. I know it's by design to not use any buttons because it is intended to be used while performing an activity. But the widget would be much more useful if it would include some sort of manual reset. Good start though!!
