Hello everyone! I like the application. It is very useful. If you need something just contact Brian (the developer). I wrote him at 2 o’clock in the midnight (I know it sounds crazy but I assumed it) and the more crazy thing is that he respond me right away and solve my issue. So good application, good developer. It worth it a lot. I mean it. Thank you Brian! Warm regards to everyone! Ovidiu

I am quite confused now. I am looking for richer heart rate related data on my run and bike training sessions. I do not have an external heart rate sensor, and want to use the optical sensor on Garmin 945. Will this datafield app add heart rate related data to my bike or run sessions?

Since installing this datafield on my edge 130, the heart rate on the normal datapages does not show, stays at zero. Does this datafield require exclusive access to the hr sensor?

6 de marzo de 2021 | Versión 2.1

You have to disable the watch HRM and use an external HR strap. If I wanted to do that I would just use EliteHRV on my phone

Sorry you feel that way, but this app does amazing stats on all aspects of heart rate during an activity. There are two heart monitor apps data field and full app. The full app does allow internal optical hr sensor usage. . “Yes”, the data field requires a HRM and the HRM must be disable. This is due to a “Garmin Data Field Limitation”, as designed by Garmin. Data fields do not have access to RR-Interval needed for HRV calculations. Therefore the data field requires direct access to the external HRM to ger the RR interval. Typical Usage of the optical hr and a disable external HRM give full heart rate coverage for all data to be computed. Training with HRV will give a you a greater gains in less time. Thanks Brian

If I could give this no start I would. I initially purchased this to keep an eye on my general heart rate during exercise. The information given is only understandable by a cardiologist so is no good for every day fitness. Save money and use the application the comes with your watch.

Sorry you feel that way, but this app does amazing stats on all aspects of heart rate during an activity. My website does have useful information how to use and what each Data is. A simple web search for ‘Heart Rate Variability (HRV training’). There you will find a wealth of knowledge on what and how HRV is used in training. Training with will give a you a greater gains in less time. Thanks Brian

The APP doesn't have an IS stress index, and Garmin Connect doesn't have histogram or scatterogram graphs. To take?

Respuesta del desarrollador

Thanks for reviewing The data field has a HRV +/- index that is similar. Positive indicates recovered & negative indicates under recovered /stress

It works, but what is the usage scenario? When I have HRM disabled, I loose HRM data on my watch, including your own widgets (like DozenWalk, DozenRun etc). In order to get both HR and detailed HRM stats I need to run with TWO SEPARATE HRMs, right?

Respuesta del desarrollador
7 de marzo de 2021, f3b

Thanks for reviewing, since most Garmin watches have optical HR. The usage is Watch (DozenRun) uses Optical HR and. Heart monitor utilizes the External HRM. If you need more information visit my website listed in the Whats’ New section of the App Page in connect.

When it is activated, the normal Heart Rate for Standard Garmin used for vo2 max etc. is read out on the hand wrist, which is Not Wirkung correctly.

For HeartMonitor (datafield), an external ANT+ Chest HRM strap is required for All CIQ versions. Make sure to Disconnect the ANT+ Chest HRM from your device, from device Settings, Sensors, HRM. Set the HRM status to OFF. The HeartMonitor datafield app will make the ANT connection to the Chest HRM, since it needs all the information provided by the HRM. Please update this review when you get the data. Thanks Brian.

Good app! I have one issue though, the datafield seems to remember previous value of abnormal beats. On my Edge 1030, I start new activity, get n amount of abnormal beats (shown in the datafield) quit and save the activity. Then I put my Edge 1030 to sleep mode. When I start new activity, the old value of abnormal beats is still shown in the datafield. The only way to reset the old value seems to be power off - on my Edge 1030. Is there any technical reason why the value wont reset when saving the activity?

Great app that provides plenty of data. The developer was excellent with prompt and useful support solve an issue with connecting my Polar h10 chest strap. I’m not sure how seriously to take the skipped and double heart beats. Very keen to see the mentioned VLF, LF, HF and ratio information in development.

("A bisserl was geht immer..") 1.)

Took me a few moments to work out how turning off the HRM in the watch settings would allow it to work as a datafield, but I don't need to know how it works - just that it does! Paired with a Vivoactive 1st Gen watch and a Tickr Run HRM from Wahoo I have now some nice new graphs and data to get my head around. Looking forward to learning more, but insofar as it does what it is supposed to I can't justify anything less than 5 stars!
