Hello, I really like the app but I couldn't manage to have the display light always on during session. I set the timeout to 0 and to 1000 but nothing change, the light of the screen goes off after the time seit in the device settings. Garmin 255 ver 14.20

I love this app, it works great and I use it most days as a means to get my breathing under control and ease into sleep. My only criticism is that it plays a merry little jingle at the end when the autosave option is used. It might be device specific (Forerunner 955 Solar) or a device setting? Will try the dark mode option to see what that does next time.

Thank you for the review. The jingle at the end is not part of the app. On my Forerunner 245 there is only the vibration that can be set to 0 in the settings, wheras on the VenuSQ there is also a jingle. Maybe there is some system setting for the watch.

There is an option "Sleep Timeout". If you set it to some seconds, the display will be turned off (set to black) after that time. If you press any key, the display will resume again, or if "Autosave Session" is set, will end and save silently.

I love this app! But it doesn't seem accurate. I tried 11 seconds and tested with a timer but it always seems to be a second or half second behind. Otherwise incredible app just wish it was accurate. Idk why it isn't

The reason of this inaccuracy is the latency of the device. If you use a chest strap, the results will get a lot better, not only regarding the latency, but also the accuracy of the heart-rate, wich will be measured in milliseconds. I can recommend the BlueLeza HRM, which is suitable for HRV (RSA) and compatible to Garmin ANT+

Thank you very much it was exactly what I was looking for for my fenix 7. It remains to get used to this type of instructions by vibration. The regularity is very sensitive on the result. It seems that 11 cycles are better for me. Good job! Traduit avec DeepL https://www.deepl.com/app/?utm_source=android&utm_medium=app&utm_campaign=share-translation

Thanks a lot! That’s what I was looking for instead of the Fenix7 built in app.

The app works perfectly and has all features one can wish for coherent breathing. Since the initial release there have been many updates, bringing in New features and even more polished graphical interface. I also like this kind of coherence score that gives you fast and easy to understand overview on how well you performed during the breathing exercises. (It also bit frustrates me because I can not get more then 65 :D) I am using additionally some of Hearmath Institute tricks for heart coherence but I can't get higher score. Maybe some Tips how to increase the score would be helpful. :)

Thanks again. What do you mean with 65? The score is based on the RSA, with a RSA greater than 12 bpm you will reach the "Good" score. To increase the RSA it could be useful to breathe deeper, also try to prolong the respiratory period. Or do you mean the coherence 65%? If your waveform of the heart changes (the red diagram in the Garmin Connect App) is not sinus like (like the blue respiratory phase), it could also depend on the poor heart rate quality of the watch. When I use a chest strap for HRM the results are by far better. But be aware of chest strap that switch off if you don't move, like the Garmin HRMs. There is a good book from Stephen Elliott called "The New Science Of Breath" in which he explains many tips and effects on coherent breathing (He reaches an RSA of 30 bpm which would be a score of "Superior").

Great App! Developer responds to feature request and fix bugs quickly. I like the new feature with vibration so that I don't have to look at my watch while breathing. Especially I like that the strength of vibration can be set. Like this you can practice the breathing without everyone hearing the vibration signals...Maybe it would also make sense to add setting to turn off the display after some time if vibration is used for guidance. On Amoled devices it would be nice to see inverted colors (black background). I also like the new feature that allows change length of breath in/out phase. Many graphs available to analyze the data! Would it also be possible to measure how HRV changes? (rMSSD)?

Thanks for the even better review ;) The display turn off makes sense indeed on amoled. I use a memory in pixel display (fr245) therefore it was not relevant. - I first started with a "dark mode" but again on my mip display it was difficult to see details. But i already got this on my todo list. - HRV is actually not within my focus. There is a standard "stress" diagram produced by garmin that comes automatically with the breathwork activity. To calculate the RMSSD is not a big deal, but why are you interrested in this value?

This app has potential! I think it would be great to add customized breath in/out time length. I personally used 4,5 sec in and 6,5 sec out (my resonant frequency ) The sinus curve was a bit confusing for me but with 3rd trial I got use to it. I am looking forward to analyze the data in graphs. So far i haven’t seen any graph. (Maybe because my longest session was only 5 minutes?)

Thanks for your review. I will consider a customization of diffent inhalation/exhalation times. I understood "coherent breathing" as a balanced breathing method that does not prefer inhalation or exhalation with the goal to balance the autonomous nervous system (Sympathetic Nervous System and Parasympathetic Nervous System). Also the evaluation of "coherence" of heartrate to breathing in phase and waveform will be difficult. But I will consider. Moreover I noticed, that the extra graphics will currently not be shown in the app. Try the webpage https://connect.garmin.com/ to review your activity
