Old-style gauges: speedometer, tachometer, odometer and trip distance, plus a compass. Odometer can track mileage from ride to ride; trip distance resets each ride.

Mileage is saved only once per mile (because I'm not sure if there's a downside to continually updating the property file) as well as when speed drops to 0 (if you aren't viewing this data field when your ride ends, you mileage may not be recorded). You can turn distance tracking on or off in the Settings section on your phone etc. (click on Garmin Devices/(your device)/Activities & App Management/Data Fields/Retro Gauges/Settings). The settings also let you adjust the saved mileage; turn on or off the trip odometer; and turn on or off the compass.
In addition to saving mileage every mile, it's also saved whenever the current speed changes to 0. Thus, if you want to save the exact current odometer setting, be sure to stop completely and let your speed indicator drop to 0 before stopping the activity.

Disabled all file writing if history setting is OFF.

Fixed compass heading bug.

Added mechanical compass effect.

Added optional trip odometer (non-scrolling :( but shows hundredths)
