Name: Race Day Watch Face - Marathon & Event Countdown
Author: MarioZ

You signed up for a race. Now it is a date in an app you never open.

This face puts it where you actually look. The number of days is the biggest thing on the screen, with the name of your race underneath:

  37
  DAYS TO 10K

The day before, it says TOMORROW. On the morning of the race it says RACE DAY. And for a week afterwards it says FINISHER, because you earned it.

Set a goal time and it works out the pace you need, in min/km or min/mile depending on how your watch is set:

  5:00/km

Everything is set from the Connect IQ app on your phone: the date, the name, the distance (5K, 10K, half, marathon or your own), the goal time and the accent colour. The time stays on screen the whole time - you are going to wear this for weeks, not for one morning.

- Days remaining, big enough to read without looking twice
- TOMORROW, RACE DAY and FINISHER when the moment comes
- Target pace from your goal time, in km or miles
- Any distance, and any name you like
- Garmin's own race prediction for your distance, next to your goal: green when you're on track. With a custom distance it's estimated from the nearest prediction (marked ~)
- Your running distance this week
- A ring around the edge that fills over your last weeks of training (8 to 24 weeks, or off)
- A finisher medal for the week after the race
- A sporty typeface, Barlow, drawn for each screen size
- Dark or light, six accent colours, 12 or 24 hour
- Always-on display: the dimmed time and the countdown, nothing else, so nothing burns into an AMOLED panel
- Asks for three permissions: Background and Communications, which the payment library needs to check your licence, and Complications, which lets it read your race prediction and weekly distance from the watch itself. Nothing about you leaves the watch
- English and Spanish

The date is written as YYYY-MM-DD, for example 2026-10-15. If it is missing or mistyped the watch tells you so instead of showing a wrong number.

You change all of this in the Connect IQ app on your phone: open this watch face and tap Settings. Updates sometimes add new options, so it is worth a look after one.

Free for 2 days, then a one-time purchase of $1.99. No subscription, no ads, nothing collected about you.

When the trial ends the watch shows a code; you enter it at kzl.io/code to unlock the face permanently. Payment is handled by KiezelPay, not by this app - it never sees your card details, and refunds go through them.

Common questions

"A code appeared on my watch and I don't want to buy it." Switch to another watch face. Nothing is charged and nothing is kept.

"I paid but the code is still there." Your watch has to sync with your phone first. Open Garmin Connect and give it a minute.

"Who is KiezelPay?" The company that handles the payment, at kzl.io. This app never sees your card details, and refunds are requested through them.

Questions or problems: write to me and tell me your watch model.

There are a few other paid faces of mine in the store as well - an illustrated bear that reacts to your day, the real sky above you right now, and the time twice as big with only the numbers you asked for. All free for 2 days first.

Disponible en español.

More watch faces I made:
- Run Wit: running lines with a sense of humor.
- Week Pro: one face, six metrics, your goal, your colors.
- Terminal Console: your day printed like a console readout.

If this face stays on your wrist, a review helps more than it looks. Most of mine have one review or none, and that is what anyone deciding sees.

How paying works: 2-day free trial, then $1.99 once, through KiezelPay. No subscription. Card payments add KiezelPay's $0.30 processing fee; paying with PayPal does not.

New: touch and hold the face to open Garmin's race prediction (on supported watches).

Want more than one? All 16 of my watch faces are $6.99 together, paid once: choose the bundle when you enter your code.

Race Day Watch Face - Marathon & Event Countdown

Preguntas frecuentes

«Me salió un código y no quiero comprar.» Cambia a otra esfera.

Available in English.

Otras esferas que he hecho:
