This is generally a fantastic app and very useful for on the fly jobs without getting out your phone. I have however noticed GPS loss when it is called during activities that require it (golf and snowboarding) which unfortunately limits its use case during activities it would be very useful for to not pull out the phone! If this was fixed that would be awesome but regardless I'm giving it 5/5 due to its general utility.

Version 4.4.3
Great, was able to control the microphone from the watch, good for Teams meetings. A few illustrations to the instructions would be helpful too (I am a programmer, but Tasker is still not simple to use). What I do miss is a way to get data from the phone. In my case to view the current status for the microphone. (variable %MUTED).

Brilliant. But on my forerunner 55 it cut the battery life in half, even if i did not interact with it. I now have a fenix 7s and it does not seem to have this problem.

Using it everyday for various tasks. Thanks! I have one wish if you could create custom icon for subscreen of the instinct version. Now it's just default "IQ" logo. Thanks again.

Very nice! I had to adjust the tasker profile+task because my watch& phone are set to German language and the parsing of the variable did not work

Version 4.3.0
It's free and it works as advertised and expected. Got it to work without AutoNotification, although there's no way to dismiss the notification it creates upon task execution without the use of AutoNotification, which is not a big deal to me. I use it to trigger a camera remote task (which uses AutoInput) and it's so much better than having to pay a few dollars for a watch app with the same camera remote function. How to use without AutoNotification: 1) Import the profile included in the app's description. 2) Create new task and copy all the task steps that the imported task came with (exclude the first task step, which will be invalid if you do not have AutoNotification). 3) Insert a new task step at the beginning "Variable Set", Name = %antext, To = %evtprm3 . 4) Create a new profile with Event - Notification category, set Owner Application = Garmin's Connect app, Text = Tasker Widget wants to* . 5) Link your profile in (4) with the task in (2). 6) On Connect IQ mobile/desktop, go to settings for Tasker Widget app. 7) Change one of the task options (e.g. Up/Left Task, Down Task, Enter Task) to the name of whatever task you want to run and save the settings. 8) Enjoy and leave 5 star review for a great watch app.

The widget works, the settings menu is not very clear and should be improved. I was able to get it to work without AutoNotification, as I always prefer to avoid installing apps that are not strictly necessary.

Version 4.2.0
If I access widgets from within an activity, the activity normally continues to record as usual. However if I scroll past this widget (don't even press enter) the GPS turns off and heart rate from the external HRM stops recording. Moreover, under normal conditions I can return to the activity from any widget by pressing the Back button. Once I scroll past this widget the back button also no longer returns me to the activity (again, this happens even if I do not enter the widget). This issue has force me to uninstall this widget in order to ensure that my workouts are accurately recorded.

Works great! I'm so glad that this app/widget exists! The only thing is that the "skipping the loading screen" setting doesn't seem to be working for my Fenix 5 plus.

Tried the Garmin Tasker app and then this. Both work fine on my Fenix 6. Tried this widget version hoping it would give me a shorter path to task execution but realized its going to be two button presses either way. Turned out to be three even due to the "Press enter to launch Tasker" screen. Why is that needed? And actually.. why is this app needed as a widget at all?

Very good widget. The only problem is that skipping the entry screen and go direct to tasks is no working on my Fenix 6x

Was good when it worked but no longer does after an update to Connect app. *I was able to use the Webhooks app to get the same functionality. Let IFTTT create a notification and intercept with Tasker

Version 4.1.0
I just bought a FR245 yesterday, downloaded Connect app v4.24.1 onto my Android phone. I couldn't get the Tasker Widget (v4.1.0) to work despite being set up correctly. I noticed the Connect app on my phone would crash/lock up as soon as I pressed a button on Tasker Widget. I then installed an older version of the Connect app (v4.22.1 released 29 August 2019) and Tasker Widget immediately starts working. I've reinstalled the current Connect app multiple times but it just crashes every time so I'm sticking with the older version for now. Is there anything that can be done by the dev of the widget, or would the issue be in the Connect app?

I use this to control my smart lights and turn my TV off and on. Must have app if you're already know how to work tasker. Is it possible to exit the widget upon launching a task in the tasks menu?

Version 4.0.0
It seems like this app causes Connect IQ to make a notification containing "Tasker Widget wants to open http://___whatever profile name___" and Tasker can intercept these and act based on them. I just wish there was more guidance on how to set this up. There are only a couple opaque profiles. But this may allow enough interaction. In particular, I don't think Tasker can cancel someone else's notifications, so these are left polluting the list. I guess maybe the author wants you to cancel the notification on the watch itself, which is cumbersome but adequate. Really just wish there was maybe either a step-by-step guide for maybe a couple simple common things like turning on the flashlight, or displaying data like phone battery level. Or a video. A couple different things that demonstrate various capabilities. For example, is there a way to show a screen with "Batt: x%, 0 calls, 0 inbox"? Maybe all this can do is to trigger Tasker actions via notifications and I see results via other notifications... I don't honestly know. The author must know; wish they would tell more here or give a [not broken] URL with more detailed guidance. Because this looks like it could be promising. And chances are that the app works better than my limited understanding, but it'll take me (and the next person, and the next, ...) a few hours to figure it out, when the author could spend a couple hours and save us each some time. Please consider it.

This widget & tasker (android) give the user an easy way to add quick phone toggles to your Garmin watch. Turning the phones wifi on & off, changing the sound profile (ringer/vibe) & more. Simply awesome.

Version 3.10-upd5
Hey mate, agree with user below - the most recent update appears to crash the app on triggering a task with the message "connect keeps stopping". I've dug around and modified the task and the phone itself but it seems to be directly following the update/code. The task still goes ahead but then the app has to reboot, etc takes time. If you could look into this that would be great. I'm still giving this 5 stars as despite these recent issues it gave me a good run and it was effective while it lasted, so thank you regardless.

Worked fine before but now it crash the Garmin Connect App, drop the watch BT connexion. The task is executed before crashing the Garmin app. I see a notification in garmin connect "Tasker widget want to open http://task_name, do not remember if I see this notification before. Widget launch task so OK for all config, just crash and disconnect before auto reconnect after awhile ????

I like this widget, now it works fine with my vivoactive. I use a lot of Android taskers for automation. By working out those widgets with the various tasker plugins, the possibilities are amazing !!!

Hi The best widget that I've tried. I come from Android Wear and I miss controls like mute, movie mode, wifi on / off, .... and with this windget and with tasker I can do it all. Thanks for Chris who has listened and answered my requests and I has helped me to run it. Toni
