It doesn't add value from connectivity point of view as that one is still controlled by Garmin sensors. That means, lights will not reconnect and will be shutdown during the ride until you re-pair. Battery status still wrong in 2023. The only benefit of this UI vs Gamin UI is that headlight can be set to flash mode.

La aplicación está muy bien, sencilla y eficaz.Como en otras opiniones de usuarios, tiene un fallo en la medición de nivel de bateria de las luces y hace que al cargar la batería de la luz la aplicación no lo reconozca.Me pasa con Ion rt 200.Sin embargo en Flare rt si funciona.Curioso.

Lousy instructions. Trek Store got it all working with my Edge 1000 and since then it has been flawless (5 rides thus far). The trick seems to be to leave things in "Auto" mode and use the timer feature for start/stop.

This is indeed a problem, the battery status on whatever. But i found a solution resetting the flare RT to factory settings. Then the battery status is represented correctly. I know, that is not the way things should work, but you regain the correct status...

Trek verhält sich wie Garmin: Eigentlich ein sehr gutes Produkt, SW und Firmware eine ewige Baustelle. Flare RT 100% geladen, Batteriestatus zeigt leeren Akku... (Edge 1030)

The app works well apart from what other reviewers have said, the battery status for the Flare RT frustratingly just doesn't work (continuously shows 2 bars). As monitoring battery life on long rides was one of the main reasons for me installing the app, I will now delete and look at alternatives.

deben de mejorar mucho la aplicación, De vez en cuando la luz trasera (Flare RT) pone que se desconecta del dispositivo garmin 1000 aunque sigue funcionando. No se puede manejar las dos a la vez cuando pone automático. No se apagan al finalizar la actividad.

Hey guys! Would be great if you could update this app to fix some bugs. On my 820 the light battery status doesn't seem to update unless I fiddle with the network and re-connect lights. There's also a little bit of connection instability, but that might be difficult to remedy. I haven't tried Garmin's first-party Varia lights but it strikes me that unlike the ANT+ spec for HR, cadence etc, lights seem to be a rather garmin-specific and poorly outlined field. Would be good to see a revised ANT+ or BLE system for this kind of thing because at present, likely at little fault of the Bontrager developers, ANT+ lights are terribly unreliable.

No funciona correctamente con las luces Bontrager Ion Pro RT y Flare Rt, ya que no coincide el nivel de batería de ambos aparatos con el indicado por el Garmin 1030. Aparte de esto, el piloto trasero se apaga el mitad de ruta sin previo aviso, mientras el Garmin indica que permanece encendido. El modo de luz en ciertas condiciones no coincide con la potencia que suministra el faro delantero. Al terminar la ruta no se apaga el faro delantero. Todo esto convierte unas luces muy fiables por sus medios en unas en las que no puedes confiar al usar la aplicación. Necesita mejorar este tema. ¡Gracias!

I only have Flare RT Rear light (non Bontrager front). Battery level not showing correctly - shows half charge when it is fully charged. As previous comment, would be good if display changed for single light rather than have one side left greyed out.

The app keeps dropping connection to the lights mid ride! Reset the unit, disconnected and reconnected, still same issue! Useless app! It's too dangerous if the lights go off mid ride

the Ion Pro RT combined with Flare RT and the Edge 830 giving me headache. there are so many configurations (from Garmin and Bontrager data field) but none is intuitive and they block and interfere with each other so you end up with leaves lights not working as expected.

My fault for not researching my lights by before buying; Pro RT & Flare RT; the Pro RT battery level is not correctly reported, light control is difficult and not intuitive - cannot override on the actual light when controlled by my Edge 1030, they repair every time even when I attempt to disable on the 1030.

I would give it 5 stars, except that the battery level is not reported correctly. At the first pairing it works, then after switching off and restarting the next day, the battery level of the previous time remains displayed, even if the battery is 100% charged. I hope it gets fixed.

I had no problems pairing my Garmin 1030 to the ION 200 lights (front and rear). Once paired, I was able to use this app to control the lights.
