RACEWISE – Smarter Race Pacing

RACEWISE is a full-screen Garmin Connect IQ data field designed to help you pace races more intelligently.

Instead of constantly checking your watch and doing mental maths, RACEWISE monitors your progress and gives you simple guidance throughout the race:

HOLD – you’re on plan
EASE – you’re ahead, save some energy
PUSH – you’re behind and need to close the gap
GO! – final push, empty the tank

RACEWISE works inside Garmin’s normal Run activity, so you can continue using Garmin for GPS recording, heart rate, laps, navigation and your normal activity screens.

COURSE & ELEVATION AWARE

RACEWISE doesn’t simply assume that every kilometre or mile should be run at exactly the same pace.

When course and elevation information are available, RACEWISE takes the terrain into account when calculating your race strategy.

That means:

• Slower uphill sections are treated more realistically
• Descents can be recognised as opportunities to regain time
• Pace guidance adapts to the demands of the route
• Ahead/behind feedback is smarter than simple even-pace calculations

For the best terrain-aware experience, load and follow your race course using Garmin navigation before starting the activity.

LIVE RACE INFORMATION

During your race, RACEWISE displays:

• Required pace to reach your goal
• Predicted finish time
• Time ahead or behind target
• Distance completed and remaining
• Race progress indicator
• Clear HOLD / EASE / PUSH / GO guidance

The strategy continuously updates as the race develops.

If you lose time early, RACEWISE recalculates what you need from the remaining distance instead of simply telling you how far behind you are.

If you are ahead, it can encourage you to protect that advantage rather than unnecessarily pushing harder.

SIMPLE SETUP

1. Install RACEWISE from Connect IQ.

2. Add RACEWISE as a full-screen data field to your Garmin Run activity.

On many Garmin watches, open the Run activity, scroll down from the activity start screen to Connect IQ Fields, select RACEWISE and configure your race goal.

3. Select your race distance and target finish time.

4. If you want course-aware pacing, load your race course through Garmin navigation.

5. Start your Run activity normally.

RACEWISE will then monitor your progress automatically.

DESIGNED FOR RACE DAY

RACEWISE is designed to give you useful information at a glance without filling the screen with unnecessary data.

Large text, colour-coded states and simple instructions make it easy to understand while running.

You can still scroll to your normal Garmin data pages whenever you want — RACEWISE simply becomes another screen inside your existing Run activity.
