HIIT Tracker

**THIS APP IS UNOFFICIAL AND NOT SUPPORTED BY ORANGE THEORY FITNESS OR ANY OTHER STUDIO**

Donate to the developer:

This Garmin Connect IQ App provides a display on your Garmin Device which closely matches the display seen on the screens in Orange Theory Fitness studios as well as other HIIT studios such as Fit32, Cyclebar, etc. It is intended to be used in-studio alongside any of the officially supported heart rate monitors and will not interfere with their operation. Devices equipped with internal HRM's can use this sensor as well but it is not as accurate as an external sensor. By default the app will record an activity of type Training but can be changed by the user in the settings menus. This activity and it's FIT data can be saved and sync'd with Garmin Connect just as any other fitness tracking app does.

This worked great until last week and now the Garmin app crashes every time I try to view my workout. I think it had something to do with the new IOS update because I had no problems until then. :(

This app crashes on every use, corrupting the FIT file and data.

I did love this, but all of a sudden it won’t work, was there an update done? Have the vivoactive 3..

Great for what it is designed for. To echo other OTF users, having the option to provide a custom HR profile would be a nice addition.

Works as expected, however without the ability to set a custom HR for zones it may not match in studio if your HR zones have been adjusted by OTF. Please support this!

works great on my vivoactive 3 - I find I get the best heart rate monitoring if I really crank the watch tight because otherwise it moves around too much while working out. I'm considering getting a chest strap for better accuracy.

Great for heart rate tracking and time keeping. Can’t figure out how to get it to read my distances though. I use it for CrossFit type workouts with jogging laps in sets and would like for it to read laps somehow.

I love the app and use it every time while at OTF. But I agree with others, put back the option to use our own max HR profile. OTF formula is a very generic formula even with their new calculation. For this reason as well as simplifying "devices" I'm not purchasing their HRM and will use garmin with HiiT Tracker. Please add back in the option for us to use our own customer max HR profiles.

I can't work out how to use the heart rate monitor on my FR235?

I liked the functionality of the APP in every aspect however, it’s crashed my Fenix 3 twice since Saturday, now I uninstalled the APP.

Great App. I find the HR reads are best if it’s on the app for a few minutes to gather my HR before I hit start. Great tool to keep my goals for the week honest.

June 15, 2019 | Version v1.3.3

OTF has a new option to use true max HR instead of the formula (that does not work for me due to high natural heart rate). This app needs the option to either input HR zone values manually, input a custom Max HR and use the OTF formula, or use the custom HR zones from the Garmin app. Thanks!

I just used this tonight at OT and it was spot on. I am using my Garmin 735 and I am impressed.

Thanks for your work on this. I love the interface, but it's not accurately reflecting my HR during workouts on my Fenix 5 Plus.

I use it on vivoactive 3. After a 45min tabata neither the steps nor intensity minutes has any drastic increase. I have weekly goals and such a bug does not help in achieving goals.

May 21, 2019 | Version v1.3.3

Tried this for the first time tonight with my Fenix 5S Plus and my HR doesn’t seem to register? Not sure if I have some setting wrong? I got 20 points in my Orange Theory class and the app registered none?? Love the idea and the screen is great, just not getting the results. Thanks

May 17, 2019 | Version v1.3.3

This app is a great idea, but perhaps slightly inaccurate or not sensitive enough. If I start my workout on the tower or weights floor it just doesn’t match my heart rate at all (it stays in the grey when I’m definitely going all out on the row!). It isn’t until I jump on the treadmill that it starts matching what’s in the OTF screens and more acccurately tracking my HR. So often (depending on the workout) I’ll only have accurate data for half my session! Otherwise, great!

Not sure why, very happy with app while using my Forerunner using Fenix 5 plus and didn’t track my running distance. That was measured while using my 935...

May 2, 2019 | Version 1.3.2-upd5

My OTF band broke and I didn't want to buy a new one. This app works great! I had an OTF monitor on and the app running at the same time and they read about the same! All I have to do is change the activity name on my app when it saves which is way better than spending another 100 dollars on a new OTF monitor. Thank you!

April 15, 2019 | Version 1.3.2-upd5

Excellent app for measuring my HIIT workouts and gym class activities, the fault previous reviewers have mentioned regarding the activity title is easily addressed by going into the activity and editing the activity in the connect app. 10/10

Great app except it records the workout as treadmill running

You can change the type of workout it records as in the settings. Garmin doesn't support a workout type of HIIT or Interval Training. In the latest version I changed the workout type to default to "Training" with a sub-type of "Cardio" - again you can change this in the settings.

Same issue as the other. Fenix 5 records as running. please look for a fix. I would gladly pay for this app in a fully functional format. Keep up the good work and thank you for working on the bugs.

I like the idea of a HIIT tracker, for interval running of for crossfit-like workouts. When I use this app, it does seem to work during my workout, but it records it as a treadmill run on my phone :/ I have a fenix 5, and it seems from the other reviews, that i'm not the only one experiencing this problem.
