Time runs backwards here, and it is always the witching hour.

The hands turn the opposite way from an ordinary watch, and the Roman numerals follow them: I sits to the left of XII, XI to its right. Reading the time takes a moment at first, then becomes a habit, then becomes the pleasure of watching someone else try it.

The artwork is an engraving for a long night: carved pumpkins, bats, black cats, cobwebs, dripping candles, rusted keys, oak leaves. A pointed hat at the top of the circle, a cat asleep in the cauldron at the bottom. The hour hand is the witch hat, the minute hand a spoon, and VI is pumpkin orange.

What the face shows: hours and minutes in Roman numerals engraved into the artwork, crisp on every screen; a second hand while the watch is awake; the day of the month; a larger layout on screens of 280 pixels and below; no permissions requested, no data sent, nothing to configure.

The face runs in full for 24 hours of use. After that the artwork fills with hatching and a banner shows your watch identifier. The time stays readable; the face simply becomes unpleasant to look at.

To activate it, buy me a tea: 1.99 euro by PayPal to f4hla@free.fr, quoting the seven-character identifier shown on your watch, something like K7Q-M2X. You get back a code to enter in the Garmin Connect app, under Device, then Watch Faces, Halloween Inverse, Settings.

The code is tied to your watch: it works on that watch only, and it does not expire. If you change watch, send me the new identifier and I will issue the matching code at no further cost.

Codes are sent by hand, so allow a few hours. If a code does not work, I will replace it.

There are no refunds, by design: the 24-hour trial is a gift, the whole face, nothing asked in return. You know before you pay whether the face is for you.

Halloween Inverse
