Is there an easy way to download, track and trend the data?

Unfortunately there is no way to currently see long term data on the Vivoactive HR and this application. The only thing that I could see for this app is logging data to a text file on the device itself. I am not sure how useful that would be though. Feel free to contact me on the Contact Developer link on the right of this page if you need more help or want to discuss this.

Good app. I read the sleep thread posted but it only contained tutorial of transferring data to the computer for further inspection. I tried to sync the my sleep data and get a visualized diagram on my iPad and it worked only once. I don't know why I failed to sync data on iPad after that. I just started the app when sleeping and exited the app when I was awake. Sadly, I cannot see any update on my sleep data after sync the device.

Hi App is very good, but every 3.td Day, it stop after some hours and in the morning, when i awake, it displays "Press start button to restart". I think the problem is to press any button while sleeping when the watch is pressing to the bed... You know this problem ? Any solution ? Thanks and best regards R. Geisser

There is an application setting called 'Pause Timeout'. You can set it in Garmin Connect Mobile. It can be from 60 to 900 seconds (1 to 15 minutes). What it does is automatically kick you out of pause mode when that time elapses. That will eliminate what you are seeing. I thought about making this mandatory for like 5 minutes, and may do so.

I absolutely love this app, but unfortunately I had to switch over to the Garmin 235-which I also love. Is there any way you could get this for that one?

As Garmin stated, the amount of room to display data on a round watch face is less than a rectangular device like the VivoactiveHR. As a result, this app will never support devices that have a round watch face design. It is unfortunate, but just how it is in the new Garmin scheme of things with all their (new) devices having round watch faces.

Can you publish a tutorial on how to access and use this app's data? Thanks, klaus

I checked this out when I was looking for a program that would give me sleep data on the device itself (as opposed to on the app/web site; something like the Steps, HR, or Calories widgets). While initially I was not sure what to make of it, after reading up on it in the forum and experimenting a bit it started to make more sense, and it has since provided me with informative (and curious and surprising) insights, even more so in conjunction with Garmin's movement-based take. This app is a keeper and worth the donation; thanks dev.

Yes, there is a bit of user specific tweaking that the user can do for this application to allow it to better suit your needs. I do recommend reading the HR Sleep thread and asking questions about the application. I use it nightly and it always tells me how my sleep was .. mainly cause I cannot alter my heart rate and the application just gives me how my night was in the morning.

Thanks for the app. Could you please advise me what to call the text file to log data if there was not one already existing in the GARMIN.APPS.LOGS folder? Thanks very much

You need to determine the name of the .PRG file for HR Always and then create a text file in the LOGS folder the same name. You can open the .PRG file in Notepad and search for "HRAlwaysView.mc". That should be the HR Always file. But be sure not to alter that .prg file. Hope this helps you. If you have further issues, send me a note via the Contact Developer link and I will help you.

Love the app. One if the main things missing from Garmin is also a smart wake up alarm to be set in a time period and be triggered by lighter sleep part of the cycle. Do you think you guys could do this?

Absolutely love this app. Been trying to keep an eye on my heartrate since it's a little on the low side and this gives me that information while sleeping. Much more detailed than the actual built in Garmin one. Thanks for a great app!

Just wondering if I'm missing something as I'm a new user. Is there a REM sleep function rather than just light or deep sleep? I am led to believe deep doesn't mean you're necessarily in REM. Hope you can shed some light on this. Many thanks.

Sorry for the pokey response, Garmin does not notify me as they should re the reviews. Just another thing that does not work. But to answer your question .. no, there is no REM function. As this app is 100% based on your HR readings, it is all based on the changes in your heart rate. Btw .. I do not do light and deep sleep either, as I did not want people to be confused with the Garmin produced sleep data you see in Garmin Connect.

Really useful app for me - recommended. One request - could it be made available with a white background as I find the red shades hard to see on a black background.

Excellent app. Kudos to the developer. I have set up the logging so that I can look at the data gathered and compare it over time. Well done!

I have not been happy with the standard sleep tracking of the VA HR, especially if you want to track your heartrate during sleep. This was one of the things I missed most from my old Fitbit Charge HR. With this app we finally get some more and better insight into your HR during sleep. I think it is even better than Fitbit, but unfortunately the captured data is not visible in GC. Maybe Garmin should hire the developer of this app?

Just a note, you can log the data to a text file on your VAHR upon closing the application if that would help you see your data long term from HR Sleep. Check the HR Sleep thread on how to do that. Re the sync to Garmin Connect, I have thought about it .. and it may be something for the future.

Hi, I tried to download the app and got the message that the app will automatically launch the next time when the device syncs. But nothing happened. Where can I find the downloaded file so I can launch it manually? thanks so much

You cannot launch anything manually. If it is on your device, you will see HR Sleep in the list of applications upon pressing the right button from the watch face screen. You can try to see if there is anything in the CIQ_LOG.TXT file in the GarminAppsLogs folder when connecting your Vivoactive HR to your computer.

Over 1k downloads and 1 review? C'mon people. Take 5 seconds out your day to say thanks to the devs providing these apps/widgets etc for free. Anyway, cheers, HRGuy, just what I was after.

Thanks for the review. Sometimes I think that people think that we are somehow paid by Garmin. But you are correct, we do it all for free. The only thing we get in return is the pleasure of knowing that people are using our apps and enjoying them. Though on some of my download pages you can donate .. of which I have made $2, it is so not about the money but may buy me a water when out exercising. So this is not a get rich scheme. A good review doesn't hurt either and it does make my day at least when I know that someone out there is using my app and in some small way it is making them happier with their Garmin. I know that I would never ever buy a device that I could not make it do cool things with these Connect IQ apps.
