UV-Index is a simple, accurate no-nonsense widget that displays the current UV-Index and it's daily maximum for any location. The widget makes use of GPS coordinates and retrieves the UV-Index using a web service provided by OpenUV Project (https://www.openuv.io).

If you like free software, kindly consider a donation to help keep me motivated: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/laufschnauff

Works well, thanks. Actual values a bit off my local weather service but that's expected, and more convenient using this. Couple of suggestions to make it great: 1. Have a more graceful way of dealing with no phone connection - I suspect a lot of the 1 star reviews are to do with this. I was about to uninstall thinking the widget keeps crashing. 2. Display both the cloud cover adjusted value and current clear sky value at the same time, or an option to choose (I'd personally pick the clear sky value if only able to see one). 3. Might be beyond the scope of the widget and getting a bit more complex, but would be perfect to have a predicted (ideally clear sky) time of when UVI goes above and then below 3, for the day (another way of saying it would be the time of day sun protection is required).

The App works good and does its job. Thank you! If it doesn't work at first, just start a activity and start this application.

Have to wait to see results first time. After that works fine for me.

The widget was functioning fine, but since some time it does not work anymore. It only shows IQ! In the middle of the watch face. Any idea how to fix this?

Sometimes works others not, most of the time seems to show the correct index but there's time on the day that doesn't make sense what is shown (either higher index or lower, cross checked with few UV Index sources)

This is most likely due to the weather forecast data. The current UV-Index in my widget is corrected with the cloud coverage (in %) retrieved from openweather. You should compare the UVmax value to what weather services publish as this is the clear sky maximum for the day. Use this value (and your own judgement) to be on the save side!

Super!

Gute Frage! Aber es funktioniert und stimmt auch mit den Wetterdaten überein. Sicherlich gut, wenn man unterwegs UV-Schutz erneuern will. Gute Arbeit!!! (Fenix 6X Pro)
