I received my watch and right away I wanted an altimeter. I downloaded this and I couldn't fight it how to install it. My fault!!! I just got the watch. I emailed the Developer and he replied right away with directions on my watch. Altimeter is great easy to read while hiking. Exactly what I needed. Customer service is great. I will look for apps from this developer first.

Does what dev says it does. Like he mentioned it’s pulling data from the watch so your watch is the issue if it’s not showing the correct altitude.

Thanks for your understanding review. I recognise the limitations of my widget with non-barometric devices. I decided it wasn't up to me to not make the app for those watches, it was up to the user to understand their watch and make an informed decision as to whether the app was for them or not.

I can’t say that it works to well on my vivoactive 3. It’s off by about 100-200 feet. I might need to calibrate? I don’t know how thought so if I could get help that would be nice!

I'm sorry you can't get my app to work. It just shows what the watch gives it. If your device isn't calibrated you won't get good results. The problem is with the device not the app. If you use your watch properly the widget works well. If you think the issue really is the app why not ask for help before leaving a poor review?

I'm sorry you couldn't get my app to work on your watch. Why not contact me for assistance before leaving a poor review? In what way did it not work? If it really doesn't work I want to know more so I can fix it. The Forerunner 245 doesn't have a barometric altimeter. Did you make sure you had a good 3D GPS fix before using the widget? The app just reports what it gets from the watch.

Works fine on my Forerunner 645 and altitude displayed is within 10 ft of what I know to be accurate. Thank you!

As the title says, it's quite simple. Just altitude is displayed. I went for the myABC widget instead, as it has more useful information

Nice widget. Exactly what I was looking for. Uses the altimeter of the watch which is calibrated when gps is operational so don’t blame the widget when the value is wrong, just put on the gps and wait

Thanks for your review. I guess the 735 only supports altitude from GPS and you didn't have 3D fix. Unfortunately, as I only have access to my own watch, I don't know the capabilities of all the other possible devices. A shame, I'm sorry it doesn't work for you.

Please contact me first if you have a problem. As the description says, the widget simply displays the altitude returned from the Garmin firmware. If your watch hasn't been calibrated, can't be calibrated or doesn't have access to altitude, unfortunately the results will be poor. The app has no way of knowing if the value it gets from the underlying hardware is good or bad.

I'm sorry the app doesn't work with your watch. It just displays what the Garmin system gives it. If there's no data available it should display 0000 and a message in the top label. Unfortunately, as I only have a Vivoactive HR that is the only real device I can test.

Question: I have a VA3. It says "No altitude 0000" Do you have any kind of error codes analysis? I believe it's my watch to blame. I also cannot see floors climbed, and battery drains quickly. Thanks

It uses up all your battery. It must be always connected to GPS, as my watch runs out of battery within a day after installing this widget. Before I would last at least 4 days

I'm really sorry you have issues with my widget. It certainly isn't intended to be permanently connected to GPS. It simply reads the altitude once and displays it. After a short period, as it's a widget, it should time out anyway. It's been installed on my Vivoactive HR for several weeks with no problems but that has a barometric altimeter. Please contact me directly through the Contact Developer link and I'll see if there's anything I can do to help.

I always wanted to program exactly this big character display for my VHR – now you did it. Thank you so much. Could you add sunrise and sunset with the same font size?

Well the trouble is, if I added anything it wouldn't be Simply Altitude any more! So, instead of adding, I've made a separate "Simply Daylight" widget (https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/da49e757-95ad-4151-bcf1-498a857a50e6). It shows sunrise & sunset in large font, just like you suggested. I hope it works for you.
