A classic digital LCD watch face that keeps your daily steps in view, drawn in segmented digits that stay sharp on every screen size.

Time
- Big segmented hours and minutes, following your watch's 12 or 24 hour setting, with a P marker for PM in 12 hour mode.
- Seconds while you look at the watch. On memory-in-pixel screens they keep ticking in low power when the watch allows it; on Instinct watches with a small round window they sit in that window.

Steps
- A 20-segment bar fills one segment for every 5 % of your daily step goal and is full once you reach it.
- Today's step count sits right over the bar and the date keeps its own row, so both are always in view.
- Today's distance (km or miles, following your watch) and calories under the time, where the screen has room.

Date and status
- Day, two-digit year, month and day, in the style of a classic LCD: SUN '30- 6-30.
- MUTE lights up when Do Not Disturb is on.
- A bell shows when an alarm is set.
- Five battery marks, one for every started 20 %.

Screens
- The display fills the whole screen with no frame, on round, rectangular and Instinct watches alike.
- On AMOLED watches, always-on mode shows only a dim time, date and step count on black and moves them slightly every minute.

Settings
- Steps and date: Both (the default), Alternating (the date row switches every 4 seconds between the date and the step count while the watch is awake), Date only, or Steps only.
- Change it in the Connect IQ app on your phone, or on the watch itself where the watch offers watch face settings.

No permissions: the face asks for nothing and sends nothing.

Good to know
- Seconds are hidden in always-on mode on AMOLED watches, and in low power on watches that do not allow per-second updates.
- Some small screens, such as Instinct 2 and Instinct E, leave out the distance and calories row, and put the STEPS label over the step count instead of beside it.
- The step count shows up to 999999; from 100000 on, a STEPS label beside the count makes room for the sixth digit.
- Distance shows three digits (5.42, 12.4, 123) and calories up to 9999.
- Day names are in English only.
- Your step goal comes from Garmin Connect.
