A little confusing at first, but I now understand what this means and feel a little better knowing my VO2max can be calculated more accurately. Thanks so much for this app. Hope you can get a job soon

Work perfect and without any problem!!
Best cooper test on the market..

Works only with the white background. If I choose black, it does not show data but only records it.

What is coopers test timing. As watch is vibrating continue while running.

He descargado la app y he sincronizado, pero no consign a accede a fella.
Podéis decirme como?

Hello Jose. First, to ask such a question, it would have been better to send me an email rather than posting a bad evaluation here which is not related to a malfunction of the datafield. If you can delete your comment after reading (or reassess the note), thank you. To install and use a datafield, go here: https://forums.garmin.com/developer/connect-iq/w/wiki/14/changing-your-app-settings-in-garmin-express-gcm-ciq-mobile-store

Esta bien. Pero cuando pongo la pantalla se pone a vibrar.
January 8, 2020, Surfy66
Hello and thanks for your comment. It's probably normal as there are two reasons when this datafield may vibrate: 1- your current HR exceeds your max HR (check if your max HR is correctly set into your profile); 2- you set the Cooper test with a duration of 0 mn. So, check those two conditions and this should solve the issue.

Nice data field! Lots of useful info-almost too much while running, but once I get used to it, I’m sure this will help me in my training! Good job!

Bonjour Izgaghan. Pourquoi écrire un commentaire ici alors que nous communiquions déjà par mail... Je ne vois pas ce que je pourrais apporter de plus ici comme réponse...

Did a test: Cycling app showed 5 ml/kg/min more than the running app at maximum (nearly same conditions, same pace etc). Is it possible to add watts (via Stryd for instance) to the running formula?
September 7, 2019 | Version 1.47
Why would you allow for setting up weight, elevation and other variables, inside the cycling VO2 app, but not this one? It was working ok for some time, but right now, the data is wrong. Does it consider age and body size? My VO2 max is not 35.
September 7, 2019, Surfy66
Hello Marcel. This is just because the calculation method for both different VO2 max is different, and does not require the same infos.

I can only give three stars now because I have been unable to even find it on my watch!
I have a Forerunner 735 XT and was really looking forward to getting an ongoing assessment of my VO2 max. I downloaded the app, and according to Garmin Express, it has been installed on my watch - but - where is it?
Suspect I have done something wrong and would appreciate any help offered!

Hello Nick. As explained on the description, this is a data field not an application and needs to be added to a single data screen within a sport activity.
1- go to settings, apps, sport activity, data screen, screen 1
2- set layout to 1 field
3- set field 1 to ConnectIQ Fields, JMGDTFRunningVO2

Great data field and very useful. Though I don't get the same score in the Garmin watch I think the watch score is the wrong one. Thankyou!!!

Une l’application chargée et installée sur la montre, comment fait-on pour la lancer svp ???
May 30, 2019 | Version 1.47
Garmin told me VO2max at 50 and this app at 46,5
I've done a interval training to go at the max to obtain this result.
What is the difference in term of computation algorithm ? Which one is the "good one" ?
Many thanks for your answer.
PS : suggestion : instead of 1 data field written in small on my VivoActive3, why not 2 data field, to allow bigger figures (easier to read ... :-)) thanks !
May 26, 2019 | Version 1.47
Great data field! It is pretty much what I was looking for to have on my vivoactive 3. Just a minor point: Could you maybe also add the export of the calculated training effect, so that it can be checked as well in the saved activity in the app. Right now it can only be read during the activity on the watch. That would be great! Thank you in advance.
May 27, 2019, Surfy66
Hello Flo and thanks for your comment. Actually, the Training Effect value is already saved by default by Garmin, you can find it in the summary of the activity.

This feature is great, thank you! Using it from treadmill running. It would be great if it could integrate with Garmin Graphs for historic. Is there a way at least to extract data build a graph on the computer?
May 27, 2019, Surfy66
Hello Marco and thanks for your comment. In fact, when you synchronize your device with Garmin Connect, the activity is transferred to your Garmin profile then, you can see it in the list of all your activities, with all the data and graphs displayed.

I'm using your VO2 apps for both running and cycling; Garmin missed the boat on this feature on my fenix watch and I'm really happy you're filling the gap. Thanks!
February 26, 2019 | Version 1.46
I worked on a running simulator and in the report, the Vi2max classes is 41, and in the Garmin Conect program, the VO2max indicator did not change the indicator and remained equal to 39, why?
February 26, 2019, Surfy66
Hello and thanks for your comment. Unfortunately, it's not possible to modify the VO2 calculated by Garmin with third party calculated data. That's the reason the Garmin VO2 did not changed by this datafield.

Question regarding Elliptical
I trained for 50 min with peak of 169 (max is 175) bpm
Sustained 20 min above 158 bpm and VO2 shows no record at all...
January 22, 2019, Surfy66
Hello and thanks for your comment. This datafield was originally developed for use in dynamic running, so it means that it requires a non-zero speed to operate and calculate the value of VO2 max, something impossible on an elliptical trainer with a zero-speed value. So, this will unfortunately not be possible to adapt this datafield for this activity

Congrats on being the only third party app to do this (at least that I can find). Amazing data field with VO2 dynamically updated during a run/cycle. The standard Garmin VO2 reports (which are static not dynamic) do not take elevation into account as I understand it. So if you run up a big hill VO2 will be worse than running on the flat. I wondered if this app does or could integrate elevation, which would be very neat (perhaps the maths is too hard). I know it can only ever be an estimate outside the physiology lab, but lets face it we are all obsessed by VO2 and the more accurate you can make the estimate the better. Keep up the good work.
September 28, 2018 | Version 1.44
Is OK. But, it's not clear what the parameters mean. The parameters differ from the pics here....Would be nice to change them to that what I need. Interesting is, that the calculation of the VO2 max differs significantly from the calculation by Garmin. With Garmin I have 43, with this app I have more than 50....!!! I need reliable information...

Very good app for Garmin 5x. It works very well and I am able to check my v02 max improvement using a treadmill during indoor training session. Great work! Keep going on! Why it is not possible to overwrite the garmin v02max value with your value? Or better, how about to let the user know the new value after each training session asking if he/she wants to overwrite the new value into the garmin vo2 max field?
July 17, 2018, Surfy66
Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately, the overwriting of the VO2 data is not allowed by Garmin, although it could be great ! Maybe in the future...
