So far everything about tracking the points was great! I have a 245 Music and also have the issue that the "loss point" down hold needs to be quick or else the music menu pops up but it really wasn't that bad once you got a feel for the timing of the buttons. I played with the app first before my match to see how it works and it seemed intuitive, but the first time I used during a match it was messing up my game trying to get the points marked correctly. It was very distracting and I wasn't happy. I also QUIT instead of SAVED the game and loss the stats. Once again ,unhappy... But the next match I tried it again and the buttons just seemed to make sense and it was easy to score and classify the points - it was GREAT!!! Love the scoring, the point classification and the stats in Garmin connect. I need to start looking at my % and see what shots are getting me 70+% and what I need to maybe work on. The distance and steps are off - otherwise it would be 5 stars! But other than that - so far I'm liking this very much! Also - it would superb if there was an Open Play setting and doubles game...

Thanks for the review. Yes, the first few time using it is always confusing and challenging. There is a learning curve, but you can always use the basic win/lose point without special points to get a hang of it. Regarding the steps/distance, it is not using GPS right now that's why it's off. I plan on adding GPS as an option in the roadmap, but it does consume much more battery as it's more extensive. Could you give me some suggestions on the Open Play setting? Many people are suggesting similar, once I have more ideas I can work on a solution. Could you give me some suggestions on your thoughts on Double games as well? This was built for singles so I never thought about double. In double, we could track P1, P2 (opponent), P3 (P1's partner), P4 (P2's partner) serves. But the stats will be for P1+ P3 (or just P1), and P2 + P4 (opponent).

Great tennis app! I love how it is button controlled. The stats in Garmin Connect are awesome!! The loss point menu is a really quick hold for me, due to Forerunner 645 Music making the down button hold open the music menu. I think a few times a match it opens the music menu and there is no way to shut off this option. Nothing the app can do, just realize all music watches will have to get the timing down. Only improvement I can offer is to let the app use GPS (or a footpod). I went from a 3 ~ 4 mile match with GPS to a 0.34 mile match using this tracker for the first time. You also get to do some mental gymnastics like should a passing shot be a winner or P2 net loss point. Great job minhla1215 in making a superb tennis app for us Garmin users.

Thanks for the review. Yes the down button hold is a known issue even when I was testing it in beta. My Fenix device also has Hotkey that maps to music for down. I made the time to be .275 second to register as hold. So .275s to 1s will be a hold. This does requiring getting the timing down for button-based devices. GPS option is on the roadmap :) that will give it more accurate tracking. Downside is the battery usage. Yes, I feel you regarding the mental selection we have to do for some points. For me, each win/lose point is totally up to the recorder and can mean differently to each person. Some net are also winners, and likewise. For your particular decision, I usually track it based on if the P2 comes to the net on their offense, then it's their net point. If I make a play and force them to the net, then I put it as a winner.

Good app. A practice mode could be useful just to track step/distance/fc...

Thanks for the review. What would the practice mode entail in your mind? My thought is a mode that keeps a continuous count of 1,2,3,4 for both players and the same stats tracking. Let me know your thoughts.

I wish there was a free play option. Just to track your training drills

I give 5 stars because I am a big fan of this app. Really helps you tracking your matches and progress in tennis. With the addition of the options for the opponent it's almost perfect. I say almost because the new stats for the opponent do not show in the recap on connect. At least on Venu SQ. Only service winner appears. Maybe it will be fixed in the next update... Thanks anyway!

Thank you for the kind review. Hope this app helps you track your progress in tennis well! Regarding the fields on Connect App, there is a limit set by Garmin on how many entries we can store. As a result, I have mostly recorded what deemed to be most useful for P1's point of view.

Very good app on Venu SQ. Does what it promises. Only improvement I can suggest is to give more options when you win the point, especially when you return. Winner and Net is too little. I would also add opponent unforced error and it will be perfect! Many thanks anyway!

Thank you for the kind review. I am happy the stats are being used well! The suggestions are really good; I will add them to the roadmap. Will see what other point style I can add relating to the opponent points that matter to Player 1.

Good idea but the held options don't work on the Venu Sq, therefore no stats available and no data saved.

Thanks for the Review. Unfortunately I only own a Fenix 6s and added supported for most devices through testing via the Garmin SDK Simulator. The Garmin simulator is not perfect as the simulator behaviors still differs compared to the actual physical device despite no real documentation stating the difference. I will take note of this and investigate on the developers forum on similar issues with held on particular devices.

I like the ease of use and the fact that it records the exercise as well, but using a Vivoactive4 I cannot seem to get any of the tennis report once I finish the tennis session. The activity log syncs fine, with heart rate, distance, calories etc, but none of the tennis stuff.

Hi Byron. Thanks for the review and feedback. At the end of your session, do you press the "Save Session" in the Main Menu? This will ensure the tennis stats are stored into the Garmin Connect App.

Sorry, no statistics available yet.
