Need a bit of light ? Use the flashlight.

This is a very simple widget that you can use to get a little light while in complete darkness.

It turns the screen white and the backlight on while in use.

TIP : use the Garmin Express utility to rearrange widgets so that the flashlight is the last on the list; it will then be displayed first when pressing the UP button while displaying the watch face.

Kind of a (very) late reply but here's why ... Garmin does not provide any means to increase the backlight past the system setting; according to the docs : "The back light will always respect the back light timeout settings on the device. Behavior of this feature may also change depending on device settings."

Works as described, but it only powers up to the users backlight setting. I was hoping it was like the Fenix flashlight, which took it to the brightest backlight setting when pressed. Until that adjustment is made in the programming it is useless to me. Thanks for trying though

I like the idea but without the possibility to have it's own setting for backlight strength it's pretty much useless. I have it set at 20% and do not want it stronger.. makes for a poor flashlight. It also seems a it "chunky", Ive seen quite complicated widgets that are the same size or smaller than this. Keep up the work, if it gains settings it can be really useful!
