Name: Hang Ten Surf Tracker
Author: tomkp

Counts your waves as you surf. Hang Ten records a session as a Surfing activity and finds each ride from the watch's GPS, so you can see how it's going without leaving the water.

• Waves caught, time out, and the time since your last ride
• Your longest and average ride (distance and seconds) and your top speed
• The average and longest wait between rides, and your total time riding
• A buzz after every wave, with its length, distance and top speed

Buttons only while recording, as water on the screen reads as taps. START pauses, to resume, save or discard; time paused doesn't count.

The activity saves to Garmin Connect as Surfing, with its GPS track and heart rate, plus the waves, longest and average ride, top speed and average wait. Distances and speeds follow the watch's units.

A ride is a stretch at 7 km/h or more that reaches 11 km/h and lasts 4 seconds over 12 metres. A brief slowdown or a GPS dropout doesn't split a ride; jogging, and heading out to sea, don't count.
