I like this App a lot. I now try to use it every time I complete an activity. Thanks for providing the log file that I can keep track of the Recovery HRs. It seems that most of the drop occurs in the first 60 seconds.

Thanks for the review. The big thing about Drop is getting it started quickly after your activity. The latest firmware seems to help that part.

good app, i work out almost everyday and it is nice to be able to see the amount my heart rate drops after workout. i'm not the most computer savvy, but with an email to the developer of the app, he was more than willing to assist me with setting up so i can view and save the data from the app. He was super responsive and very helpful.

Nice little app... thanks for this!
The report screen at the end is great, but would there be any way to save this in data form so numbers could be compared over time?

Yes .. go to the Drop thread in the description and you can see how to set up data logging to a text file on your Vivoactive HR.

I used this while exercising and not the "walk" function and the workout was not recorded - but only info on the drop screen. When do you use this app?

Drop measures your HR recovery after you exercise. The idea is you exercise .. run, cycle or whatever workout you do. You start the Drop application (preferably as fast as possible after exercise cause time is critical) .. and do nothing. Just stand there and let your heart recover from your exercise for 2 minutes. The larger the drop of your heart rate (a bigger number is better), the healthier your heart is. You will find the fitter you become the bigger that number will become, although eventually you will just plateau as your heart is just in such amazing shape. You can read more about it from the link on the download page or Google. For the most accurate results, I recommend an Ant+ strap as the Vivoactive HR could take a while to detect your heart rate, and by that time .. you may have half recovered. If you have questions .. maybe post on the Drop thread and I will assist you on the application. Take care .. VivoactiveHRGuy.

I like the app. This is one of those bits of information that should be used to track improvement to overall health. As such, the end user should have a way to track this both internally and externally. Numbers are great. But what do they mean? Perhaps a little in app feedback would be nice. I researched by using number ranges from the Mayo clinic. I also spoke with a Cardiac Electrophysiologist at work. But not every end user has access to such a great resource.

Thank you .. I use Drop as well and I do truly believe that heart health is extremely important. There is some information about the numbers in the Drop thread. To make it very simple, you should monitor your heart rate recovery over time and see if you heart is getting healthier as a result of your workouts. Basically how Drop works, as I am sure you are aware, is it shows how well your heart recovers from exercise. So the higher the decrease in your heart rate over the given time, the healthier your heart is supposed to be. You can read about it here https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?354879-Application-Drop-Vivoactive-HR (read the 6th post in the Drop thread) or I would just recommend doing a Google search on Heart Rate Recovery for more information. If you did not know, Drop will log the data from the application to a text file on the VivoactiveHR (you have to create the text file manually) as well if you want to monitor your progress over time. There is details on how to do that in the Drop thread as well.

Much better than the original Garmin after exercise drop. Maybe I would like:
- A final report after the test;
- The results should stay on the screen after the test and only clear with a user input.

Thank you for the review. This has been changed in later versions. The summary screen has also been recently altered to give better information in regards to your heart rate recovery.
