Sorry to hear. Please send an email to [email protected] with a description of the steps you take when trying to open the menu and your email address (if we need to contact you for further information) and we will try to fix the problem.
Please visit the user's guide on http://windward-it.se/garmin-smart-watch-apps/sail-race/ for details on the app.

The app looks clear and the menue schema make sense. My question is who to save a race as a track data once the race was started. I checked the manual but there is not hint how to track the race. Could you please help on this topic. Many thanks!

Right now it is not possible to store and retrieve tracks with/from the app. We are looking into this for next major update.

There is anyway to import GPX file for waypoints ( name, position) ?

Not yet. We are looking at writing an update were improved route and waypoint management is a priority.

Great App! I have seen it on a quatix 5. However on my FR920xt I cannot find the pin start line option, which is one of the best features of the app to see whether how far you are from the start line. Is this only available on quatix5, or I am able to use this function on FR920xt as well? If yes, how. If no, would you implement it for other decives than quatix5?
Thanks and regards,

As of now we have no plans to create a start line option.

The sync only works for 4min and 1 min but stops the clock
May 8, 2019, WindwardIT
This is actually "by design". The timer will sync/re-set to nearest subsequent signal. In the case of the ISAF timer you have a 5, 4, 1 and a start signal. Thus it is only possible to sync to 4 and 1 minute signals. Pressing sync a third time will bring you back to the first, 5 minute signal. As it is more or less impossible to programatically anticipate if the intention when pressing the sync button is to move back to previous signal or move forward to the next, we decided to move forward only.
If the timer should stop and wait for the start button to be pressed before continuing
or just continue counting from the next (or nearest) signal is something we will consider in next rev. As expectations on the behaviour may vary, it probably has to be user selectable.
If you need a more configurable timer please try https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/b01fb2cc-46c3-4e5b-be22-a879f08942e0. It will allow you to configure any number of signals. We will eventually bring this into the SailRace app.

I get an error screen when trying to enter a fixed start time — “IQ” in the center of the screen overplayed with a “!” in a yellow circle.

Appologize for the bugg. But we're happy you told us. We found a bugg when setting a start time beyond midnight. It's fixed in rev. 1.1.2. If the updated version still crashes please let us know.

A great little app, but it would be really useful to be able to upload the data for post-race analysis and comparison with other competitors.

The functionality you ask for is on its way. Expect to have it ready late 2019. Stay tuned.

I tryed the app and remove other similar after in my Fenix 5x.
I have only one question- how to stop the app after using manually? It seems it works all time after start and after reset watching too and takes battery charge.

Thank you for using our app!
The is only one exit door and it may not be absolutely obvious and easy to find. If you flip to the "Position" screen and press the "Back/Lap" button (lower right button on most watches) you should be able to exit the app cleanly.

Explain me pls why on the active route I can navigate only to waypoint 1? When I reach waypoint 1 it is not skip to the next waypoint. All the time I have data to waypoint 1. How to make it to navigate the route?
Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately the watch will not step to the next waypoint automatically at this point. You have to do this manually by pressing start/stop for the next waypoint in list or back/lap for the previous.

This app works (tested today in regatta on my 920 xt), the use of waypoints is very nice. In my opinion this app needs the savig data (acess to .fit files) to analyze the performance of the boat, an then it will be fast perfect.
September 19, 2017 | Version 1.0.0
Very nice app, useful for Race Officers too. Only comment is getting to the time settings you have to be in the GPS view, and getting to the Waypoint settings you have to be in the time view.
September 21, 2017, WindwardIT
Thank you for trying out our app!
The list of views is circular so you can actually reach any of the other views by pressing up or down. Up will show the next view, down the previous. Thus, if you are in the GPS view you can switch to the Timer view by pressing the Up-button, Waypoint view by pressing the Down-button and so on.

Looks promising, but just wondering whether it's possible to:
1. Use customize waypoint name rather than just WP1, WP2
2. Able to synchronize the ISAF timer up and down, in case missed the initial gun.
September 14, 2017, WindwardIT
Thank you for asking!
Customizing waypoint names will happen in a future rev 2. Unfortunately adding an editing function comes with a penalty in the shape of increased memory consumption. As we are very close to the limit it would force us to drop support for all SDK 1.x based watches (Fenix/Quatix 3 etc.) which would be rather unfortunate at this point in time.
Right now it is just possible to synchronize down by pressing Back/Lap-button. If the clock is running, pressing the Start/stop button twice will reset the timer to 5 min.
